Congrats to Antti!!!!
Great fight man!!!!!

Hey Gaijin! As requested...
Second under card of the event was Antti vs. The Aussie (Anyone knows his name?)
The first round started with both fighters pushing with low kicks and jabs. Antti made full use of his longer reach to control the distance, making good contact with the low kicks. The Aussie tries in vain to close the distance and looks awkward; missing several kicks and fails to block the the low kicks. He fails to land any solid blows. A great start for Antti.
The second round was pretty much the same with Antti snapping in the low kicks and showing superior evasion. The Aussie again fails to close the distance, looking too deliberate and fails to tag with his strikes. Antti had no problem staying mobile and out of harm’s way.
The referee issues the first count in the third round when Antti smacked a high kick across the Aussie’s chin in the opening minute. The crowd gets excited as the Aussie regain his composure to continue. A couple more low kicks stung The Aussies left leg before the anticipated high kick from Antti sent the Aussie to the canvas once again! The Aussie seems fazed but shows great spirit to continue. Both fighters powered in punches towards the end of the round.
The Aussie came out fast in the fourth, closing the distance and chasing Antti with his fists. Just as the Aussie was getting confident and finding his rhythm, Antti once again sends him down with a high kick for a third time! And he recovers three times in a row! Impressive stuff from the Kangaroo!
Round 5 was a power-on-power showdown. The Aussie closed in fast, head-to-head, pumping the fists. Fatigue must be getting to Antti as his high kicks looked really slow and deliberate, making only partial contact and brushed off by the Aussie. The Aussie closes the distance with nice punch combos and rattles Antti with hard straight punches. Antti clearly wants no more of it as he tries his best to close the distance with the clinch.
The Aussie put through the better stuff in the last round. He had more power behind his fists and should have made use of them earlier in the fight; a case of too little too late. Despite his loss, he brought a lot of spirit to this thrilling bout! Aussie Aussie Oei Oei Oei! (Hope I got the cheer right..)
Congratulations to Antti! Awesome stuff! You got a bright future. You should go to Thailand to get more fights!
Great job Antti, congratulations! And thanks for the writeup Hansen.
Politicians and diapers must be changed often and usually for the same reason.
Nice writeup, indeed! Cheers.
oh! who is this Antii? Is he representing S'pore? Never heard of him
You saw him on that TV show breaking the tree with a kick and doing some pad work. He's from Findland, training with ASF.
Thanks to all, I'm taken by all the good comments... Both me and Shannon came to the fight not 100% shape, I had a little flu and Shannon had been off training for a couple weeks. All my respect goes to him, he was one tough guy! Anyway, it was a great experience for me, I hope to make it to the ring again some day in the future...
pre-match grapevine -
1. there were evidently more 'reserved' seats in the arena. looks like anyone can just do a simple print out and blink-blink the seat would have been reserved. i saw non-officials (at least he was not wearing a tag) placing papers on empty seats at his will.
2. we were told that they were going to film the crowd ... maybe that was the reason why certain segments of the crowd looked sharp enough to sashay down the runway. while action ruled the ring, fashion was the buzzword out of the ring. that kept my eyeballs pretty occupied throughout the evening.
undercard fights
absolutely at-the-edge of your seat! i saw kenji in one of his fights at plaza singapura and he has definitely improved by leaps and bounds and by hooks and kicks. and i guess majority of the crowd would remember the night for the second undercard fight between antti and shannon as the main draw ended in the flashest of flash. shannon's determination to give the crowd something to cheer about was apparent in the last bout. all the fighters earned my r.e.s.p.e.c.t for their physical strength and mental will behind every attack and block.

Oh yeah, I remember! nice..nice..Well Congrats Antii
which aussie fought over there ??? do you know from what gym?
I think he was from Samui muay thai, at least he was introduced as representing Thailand
oh! who is this Antii? Is he representing S'pore? Never heard of him![]()
I know I know. He's the rude guy who came up to me on the evening of TCA finals at the indoor stadium. I was sitting outside waiting for my friend to arrive and he came up to me without introducing himself, and SAID (or was it demand, or was it just different cultures), "You gonna see him? In dressing room too, I need to go in. His friends are here. Call him now."
I stared at him blankly for a while trying to make out who or what he is/are/was/were and who or what he was referring to as 'he'.
Then his other acquaintance or friend who was working as usher or something happened to be there and he didn't need my help anymore.
It took me an hour to put a name to his face because I thought I might have seen him in some party pics before.
Oh.... so it was Antti... that's the name.
Perhaps you can try some manners when talking to me next time. I might help you with free tickets if you're nice.
Anyone without basic manners obviously doesn't deserve anyone's respect.

Gawd!!...That is so freaking rude and uncivilised!!!!
What air and attitude! If i were you, I would have told him to go order my dog around!
**Sorry to say this, I attended some match recently where he stood in as a refree for some of the matches, he made a total clown of himself as a referee - he was talking and joking with his friends who were at the side of the ring while the match was going on and making comments to his friends while the match was going on and he behaved as if he was the ultimate anyone that has had in the ring at the point. He was not concentrating on the fighters, he did not know when to stop the fighters when needed, I was so worried for the fighters - my advice to Antii is - to stick to your pro fights, you have great future there.
I believe you're mistaken Mystiq, Antti didn't referee any of the fights at the youth park, just checked the clips... Are you talking about other fights? 'cause these were the recent ones...
Hmmm, ok, now i feel a bit embarrassed.... Sure admit talking to you flippy, but not in the manner you just described. And by the way, we have have been introduced before. Sure you must get introduced to alot of people with more interesting face than mine, totally understandable if you don't remember. Anyway it was a busy nite for everyone, i'm really sorry for not introducing myself, hope you can forgive me one day. Probably alot of people get that from me... ; )
And this 'usher' you mentioned happens to be the main man behind ALL the fighting events in Korea, I think if i should need free tickets sometime I will turn to him.
Mystiq is talking about the friendly novice session we had in Boon Lay a while ago. I am not a professional referee, i was there because my gym is one of the organizing gyms of that evening and i was asked to help the other two referees that nite (out of courtesy i don't want to mention names, well, the other one refereed the contender final). Those two people are the ones i was talking to DURING THE BREAK between the rounds, never during the round. It's a friendly session between two gyms, there is no point judges. Those two people are in control of everything, also quiding the referee if needed. That much I know about refereeing, to keep my eyes on the fight. Maybe I would've heard from these people if had done such a bad job..?
Anyway, to the both of you, you have both been there when my terrible crimes have been committed. The next time (which will obviously be the next time i happen to be in the same place with you) you see my unpolished behavior in action please, PLEASE come talk to me face to face and let me know if i knowingly or unknowingly am being rude or somehow out of the etiquette! Sure i can take your critics, and respect it as well. I don't want to appear as a bully or selfish egoist, believe me i don't. And if anyone (like you two) thinks there is something i can do to be a better person, come and tell me! Would be most appreciated.
Starting an open internet discussion about it... hmmm... i don't know, wouldn't be the first action on my mind... I will not start any arguments or such in this forum, if maybe that's what you are after, I have even heard some people have been sued for a heated internet discussions, and actually had to pay thousands for namecalling and such, either of you heard of something similar?
I'm not going to be one of those poor guys.
If this thread is waking up again because of this, maybe some of the guys who i have refereed in Boon Lay should share their opinions on this, did they feel that they were in bad hands? If you did, tell me and I will never be a referee again. That's a promise. Have a nice weekend all!
Peace lads/ladies. Have a drink, cool down guys.
Pls mystiq..That was not cool..
........................Mystiq is talking about the friendly novice session we had in Boon Lay a while ago........................
I am actually waiting for all your fans and supporters who were present that day to come forward and say how awesome a refree you were and that you did better than TCA refree Mr Johhny Chan.
Anyway its good that you are open to critism and I'll bear in mind that you are approachable in person. About how you refereed that day, I know what I saw and just for your info, Mr Johnny Chan was with me for most part of the time because we were catching up with old times on how Singapore has gone this far in MT,etc. So your statement puzzles me. I have witnessess too but I dont think I wanna get into that for that matter. I do agree he was shuttling up and down and as busy as ever concurrently. No one or rather I , me , myself is not supressing you for helping out as a referee. We all have to start and learn something new from somewhere but common sense and previous observations from numerous matches will tell you that the job of a refree is serious role. So dont go around claiming sympathies that you wont referee again - pick yourself up, learn from feedbacks and continue to improve yourself - A perfect role model for you would be Mr Johnny Chan.
**Forum is a place for open discussion, feedbacks, etc. No one gets sued for heated discussions. The cases you are referring to are 2 young chaps, at different times and separate incidents made racists remarks. This is Singapore; the law does not tolerate this!! It is serious and uncalled for. They were not sued. They were arrested, charged, fined/ thrown into prison for awhile.
Hi Mysiq. long time no see. still taking up the dance course? ![]()
Which course - Pole dancing or Thai dancing?
I don't know Antti personally but everyone I've talked to that knows him has nothing but good things to say about him. And as far as I can tell, although he's a formidable fighter in our local scene, he's always respectful and humble.
I don't think it's very gentlemanly to slug shit at someone whom everyone knows, on a public forum, least of all someone who's well respected by most people in the local muay thai scene. If you have a problem with him, take it up with him personally, in private, I don't think this is the place for this kinda thing.
That's all, thank you.
Politicians and diapers must be changed often and usually for the same reason.
didnt saw maia lee that day.
anyway, does anyone have the video of him kicking the tree into 2?
is in the army...
Gawd!!...That is so freaking rude and uncivilised!!!! What air and attitude! If i were you, I would have told him to go order my dog around!![]()
Pls.You sound kind of he stepped on your tail before..
That's not all, my friends. The discussion was opened here and it will end here - hopefully with an apology so we can all move on.
I didn't jump in because I didn't have any proof either for or against any of our friends involved in this thread, but guess what? With the help of "a third-party", tonight I got my hands on the video clips for the bouts where Antti was helping as a ref in Boon Lay!!! Yep, small world. I watched all the rounds a couple of times just to make sure what I will write here is the truth and nothing but the truth:
Mystiq, cut the crap.
The clips show very clearly Antti's actions. Ne never made a "clown" of himself, he never talked or joked with anyone "while the match was going on", he always kept his eyes on the fighters for the entire length of the round. He is not "the ultimate anyone that has had in the ring at the point" as you accused him, but as kiatsongrit said: "he's always respectful and humble". He did a great job there!
And we're not gonna allow his name to be dragged in the mud and his reputation to be tarnished by you or anyone else. I have no idea what happened between him and Flippy, I wasn't there and on top of that he apologized if he did anything wrong. Flippy needs to acknowledge that.
But you?!?!?! You don't know what you saw because you were talking to ppl there, remember? Why should he pick himself up? Because you put him down with your ignorant comments? What you did was very, very not cool.
You wrongfully accused Antti of lots and lots of things which are all false and the video clips prove that without any doubt what so ever. Do you understand how serious this is?
You owe him an apology.
PS. It was not a public event, so I'm not sure if I can post the clips here. Maybe if the ref and the gyms/fighters will agree I'll put them up. Anyway, not much to see, just two guys fighting and Antti doing his job just great.
morning everyone,
from a purely objective legal view point. antti, you have an action for defamation. any medium capable of publishing comments is a medium for libel. the internet counts.
taking the words in its natural and ordinary meaning, you have been defamed of the following:
1. not worthy of respect from anyone
2. you are a rude uncivilised clown
your character and reputation has been attacked. and you can seek damages for that.
HOWEVER, the the defenses of justification or fair comment are available.
to rely on justification, they have to prove what was said it a true fact. it has just been proven as untrue as shown above.
fair comment arises when the matter is said out of public interest. what you do in your social life is not a matter of public interest.
so there you go.
ps: the racist remarks, were criminal prosecution undertaken by the state, they are criminal offences. while defamation is a civil action between persons like you and me, it is a private matter.
so calm down everyone, let bygones be bygones. after all we are all members of the muay thai community. live and let live.
have a good sunday.
disclaimer: The above statements are merely statements of guidance and comfort and are not intended to replace, substitute or supplement legal advice and legal action that may be needed.
Now I am lost here. I do not know what to say. I do not have the videoclips either but I do know and am aware that there were many people clipping the matches on that day. I do not know who Antii is in person till he apperaed in some demo in a local channel so I recognised him on that day. Geo, did you watch all the matches that he refereed? Or just picked a couple randomly? About the clips - do I have a feel that what may be tolerable to you may not be for me. What appears as “respectful & humble”, appears “disresectful and playful” to me. I have Pmed you. I am an open person, if I have wronged someone, I will apologise. While I do admit that I can be very direct and straight forward, I acknowledge that it was not nice of me to talk about this in an open forum – quite irrevelant though as some mentioned as if he had stepped on my toes – nope, he did not. – it was the safety of the fighters that irked me while he refereed.
But then again, no one is perfect – he was doing it for the first time and merely helping out, out of good will – so yeah, there is a point there.
I will apologise for indirectly getting my friends and all those around me involved in this – my intention was only focused on 1 person- Antii and not the whole world (gyms, refs, orgnisers, etc) – I am sorry.
This is my last post on this – I will view the clips when I have obtained them and view it again. And If I have indeed wronged Antii – I will owe Antii a public apology.
*** To one of you who replied my post – Stop Acting like a God here and playing Devil behind. You know who you are. Practice what you preach ****
No apologies needed Mystiq, I'm glad this came up. (maybe not so glad that I was the example) But anyways, i think this is a lesson for me and for others also: people are different and take things in a different way. Singapore is a country with diverse cultures, 4-5 million people living in a very small area. Daily one will encounter people with different ways and views and should always take that into perspective. For example in my hometown you can get naked in a bar, jump on the table and perform the Elefant dance and still get served after putting your pants on. I believe here it would put you in jail for some time. From now on i will try to control my behavior more and be more neutral, even though i tend to get hyper excited and happy whenever there is some kind of fighting action. Like one of my friends said recently: "muay thai is like a drug to me, i can't be without this drug".
I hope I can be able to look all members of this community in the eye in the future also, and be friends with all of you!
Like one of my friends said recently: "muay thai is like a drug to me, i can't be without this drug".
sounds like dzhabbar from tca.
it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
Good one alphadog! Awesome!

What the hell are you doing Mystiq?!?! Even when the naked truth is starring at you blindly and straight in your face you keep trying to bend it and twist it so it will suit you better?? You are and were wrong, you MUST apologize NOW. There's no if , maybe or perhaps. The truth is you have no clue what are you talking about, do you?
And could you please stop insulting me? Do I look to you like someone who picks random shit and throws it at random people? NO. What did I say in my first post? I didn't make any comments because I had no idea what was going on. On the other hand, you did make those comments for the exactly same reason - you had no idea what was going on.
And wtf this means: "what may be tolerable to you may not be for me"??? It was just a practice match. Are you implying that you have higher standards? Get in the ring and prove it for crying out loud! Antti did!
And no, I don't think you should watch those clips, you accused Antti without a proof, why should we treat you any different? However, since we're a good guys community, we might be able to do something.
FYI, the staff here watched the clips. The fighters in the clips were just fine, stop exaggerating. And you just insulted him again "But then again, no one is perfect – he was doing it for the first time and merely helping out" - JESUS!!! Can you understand that he's really good at what he's doing in the ring? Fighting or refereeing - he doesn't talk how good is he, he is good and everyone knows it.

I do hope only the girls are doing the elephant dance, if yes, take me with you next time!!!
Hey man, you didn't do anything wrong, don't have to control anything.
Sweet Comeback Alphadog
You sounds like a jury or perhaps a lawyer or maybe the judge himself. Cool.
![]()
Just for the record, I've seen the clips and I did not see Antti doing any of the antics he was accused of. All I saw was him quietly doing his job as a ref. That's it.
Politicians and diapers must be changed often and usually for the same reason.
[Mod edit]: Don't fan the flames already la.
OK JUST Joking..
Well all i can said is you need evidences and witnesses .. this beginning to sound like a court case.

Cool... btw anyone could tell me who is fighting who in the video? is that Jimmy? sorry for me asking...
Quoting Geo - "...I have no idea what happened between him and Flippy, I wasn't there and on top of that he apologized if he did anything wrong. Flippy needs to acknowledge that."
Ok acknowledged.
Antti, I'll remember that you are approachable as well, and I might take a bit of time to react because well I still can't remember that we were introduced but if we really were, then I'm sorry that I don't know why I can't remember cuz I would always remember.
And talk about legal case people, yeah it's true I've sued and won thousands. Still, I can't quit digest whatever else is said in this thread now because what fight what referee... can't register I'm very blur now but Mystiq probably has her point of view as per everyone else and there is no point having everyone jump and start targeting at her alone.
I was just putting up my encounter with someone who didn't made me a very happy person that moment, but now all's fine, cool.
One more thing, I don't see why everyone's gotta wax lyrical about someone else based on his or her status in a particular network or whatsoever circle.
One may be KNOWN as nice to many or some, but might not come across as such to some others. It's not about who you know that makes you somebody who deserves ultra respect by default.
I wonder if anyone would really know what I mean.
I dont get a shit FLIPPs. Haha. Your english is too chiminological. Lols

Let's think of just 1 example... hmmm what about Stephan Fox?
Catch you later,

...
Flippy i know what you mean. I agree with you, nobody should enjoy a default respect but earn it separately for every and each day. One might be a really nice person one day and a total ass on the other. I appreciate you taking your time and reacting tonite, i feel good now because i think we have reached some sort of closure at least to this thread..! I hope the next time we meet you have a chance to take a few minutes and let me buy you a 100+ and we'll toast it off.
Ok. Seriously, I feel bad because a thread that carries my name has obviously stirred some bad feelings between others also, I hope we have come to some sorts of conclusions (for my part we have) and we can start concentrating for the coming week. For me it will be another stressing one full of work and training, it will be good to start it with clean and peaceful mindset. Everybody stay healthy!
OMG I missed all this for a stupid trip where it rained anyway
Well at least one thing came up, Antti's got friends!
Remember the thread when *somedude* was putting down Zach for some obscure reason? All the muaythai.sg came forward and slash him into itsy-bitsy tiny pieces? This is what I'm talking about! One for all and all for one!!!
PS. Actually I would like to see with my own eyes, can u pls pm me the fights? thanks!
...One might be a really nice person one day and a total ass on the other.
[Mod edit] Stop insulting people, OK???
hmmm... Some sense of humour IS appreciated, specially in this cracking forum...
hehehe "cracking forum" we try to make it as fun as possible
I do wonder who got pissed at Mystiq and who got insulted this time?
I thought you were the one who edited her comments? It's not me.

A bit of background: Antti fought tonight in the 2nd undercard bout for the contender show and he won after a very beautiful fight. He knocked down his opponent (Aussie fighter coming from Samui Muaythai camp) twice.
