BLOODY FREAKIN' AWESOME!
Gosh! i am going to get an orgasm!!!
Sure looking forward to knowing who the other boxers are! Hopefully i get to see Samkor thrashing the younger guys! Any idea who the coaches might be???
Dunno yet, I've just heard JWP is coming.
This is soo cool. Aphidet Sitharun and Somluck Kamsing were legendary fighters of Thailand and were even given an award by his majesty of Thailand and I suspect they might be coaching the guys...WOW!! . I have a whole load of magazine articles especially on Aphidet and even sports experts and sciencetist were baffled by the power of his kicks that usually broke bones of his oppnents. Not that he wanted to but his kicks were just so devastating. Are you guys aware of the background of these 2 old men? Simply awesome!!
Gosh!... The thai guys are sooo
care to share to info about them?
The press conferrence was awesome. It is definetly going to put Singapore on the world map be it for muay thai or tourism.
Line up for the fighters is very impressive. I think some of the old names mentioned before have been dropped. New names have been added into the 16 contenders and the show has just gotten a whole lot better. They will be releasing names as the weeks go by.
Not long til they start filiming it.
NOT LONG TIL THE 28TH JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LaterZ
UPDATE: The champion and runner up will get 250.000 USD (approx 380.000 SGD ) in all, but the exact number hasn't been decided yet.
so zach is taking part too?? cant wait to see him kick some ass..
Omfg.Just watch fight of aslan and he got a burtual KO by Chamsak in K1. one of the worst ko i have see. Yodsanklai is damn power i mean from what i see and judge he is better than buakaw..The power of his left kick and punches..
After reading the news articles and watching videos of the fights from fighters in contender :-& .. Singapore may need a few more years to produce WORLD CLASS fighters...
Maybe longer...
I agree totally with you Frank. Singaporeans seem to be dominating in "sports" such as bowling , shooting and cyber games! Even soccer seems to be regressing despite spending millions of tax payers' money funding its programs! Also, given the nature of the sport, you would not expect parents to be supportive of it! (this is not unique to Singapore)
Ok...enough of complaining, Let's give some suggestion on how to speed up the process of producing better fighters shall we?Anyone?
True about Singaporean parents have general a bad idea of muay thai. They think their child will be fighting Ong Bak style.
It takes alot of passion and courage to go up into a ring and fight it out in the name of sports. In my view, most s'poreans are on the practical side. Their thinking is " Why the #@*% do I want to get beaten up for and all bruised up for ? for money? which is peanuts - no, for glory? err..in this way? No then what?".

Let me share ,when I lost my 1st pro match in year 2004 by points, and when I returned to work, my colleagues were laughing at me and made fun of me and joked that I represented S'pore in getting beaten up. How did I feel? Nothing, I just tot they were a bunch of losers who knew nothing.
But thats generally how people feel.
Erm.... 1st step we need to have more local tournaments at least once a month..
Pros: Our guys will have more ring experience and confirm will get better.
Cons:I don't think local gym got so many fighters willing to take part and you will maybe see same guys fighting each other every month.(actually also good) But who willing to organise? especially $$$ is involve....
step 2
Fighter from all the gyms should try to arrange training together once every few months to share knowledge and trainers will try to help each other also( you need to learn as much as you can and doesn't mean you r a PRO and don't need advises from others..
Pros:Fighters' techniques will improve cause every trainers' view is different
Cons: the biggest problem is local people scare THEIR FIGHTERS will hop to another gym...
Step 3 scouting young TALENTS
All of us should know we(ourselves) will not become world champion one day..
Champions are actually born ...not made.. trust me ,its the truth.. there are few thousand thai fighters in thailand .Everyone worked very hard equally hoping for a better life. But only those with natural talents will rise and those fall will find living else where(hawer ,construction worker etc..) those season fighters should know what i mean.. No matter how hard you train ,you cant match someone more gifted than you..
Pros: those selected fighter will have to go training in thailand a few times a year..confirm power
cons:Will harm some fighters feeling cause those who all weaker will have to GO HOME.
Aiya these are just some ways cause last time my tennis school also like that... in the end i have to go home
Gosh! Yodsanklai is going to fight... guess this is getting more and more interesting. Hope to hear other big names too... Can't wait for it to start. Zach go show them what singapore can offer... We're always behind supporting you.
Hey Mystiq, dun feel bad... Only those who learn will know how to love the sport. Next time tell them if they're so good at laughing at other why dun they try entering the ring and see if they survive the first round.
First 3 seconds, not first round. Hahahah!
Come to think of it, most of the locals here are way too practical, kiasu and kia si and they would run and hide at the slightest tinge of threats.
And needless to say, most don't know how to fight. Yet they'd still want to have a part in putting others down to make themselves feel better/smarter.
Just because they know it well that they suck.
Amen to that!
