This is the place where you can show your support for your favourite contender and spread and/or collect rumors. If you're here only to copy and paste all we ask is to provide a link back from your page.
If you're lucky enough (like me 
) and you saw the fighters while they're in the show, remember what you signed, you cannot tell anything you see or hear there.

Hehe... keep up the god job bro... Seems like "The Contender Asia" is a bigger buzz den this year K1-Max final. Probably because we all know who will make it this year and become the K1-Max champion for 2007.

Hi,
I have just seen the intro for The Contender Asia on Youtube and I have to say I was impressed.
Do you know if there are any plans to show it in the UK and when that might be.
I am a fan of the original contender but I would definitely watch this version.

Well, it will be shown on AXN, that's for sure. They said at some point they'll broadcast the show in Europe and maybe US, but no official info came from them in a very long time, probably they're busy. With something Like filming the fights.

I don't think its going to be shown on TV until next year - march (??) sometime. Editing; marketing; advertising show etc
Also, not all the fights are going to be at The Contender House - I think the venues will change later and the Final is going to be in Vegas, so save your pennies if you're planning on going.
Tickets to fight nights on Wed and Saturdays are available on Sistic website - S$30 for Wed; S$40 for Sat.

Thanks anyway and thanks for the quick reply.
As i said, soren is a real good friend and a great fighter, owuld have loved to be there.

Enjoy the fights and make sure you go to them all. I watch John Wayne Parr, Preacher and Soren all the time, and they are great fighters to watch.
Soren would be one of the most technical thai fighters around.
He beat Orono and Jomhod this year.

Most of our kickboxing is aired on Fox sports.
Cause i train with NTG i look after some main aspects at the big fight shows which are always on t.v.
The t.v. presenter of these shows said to me last week that they are in negotiation and are
unsure on whether australia will get them.
They aired the ultimate fighter show and they previously aired the last contender, so hopefully they
pull their finger out, pay the money for the rights and let us enjoy the show.
Queensland have some really good fighters, and a huge following, so it shouldn't be a question on ratings.

They're still in talks with different networks. What they suggest to do is what I told the guys in the US: "call your local cable opperator" and ask, suggest or demand the show

Well, save your voice and energy for a day or two before you gonna need them. It's soooo not the indoor stadium, if you know what I mean. 
We cheer for all the fighters, we scream the winner's name, we applaude the opponent, we OIIIIEEEEEEE every single kick and knee and punch, we clap and we don't leave 'till it's over.

pre-match grapevine ...
1. when many people ahead of me simply gave a " i'm with someone" gesture, i was begining to wonder if i could get in without a ticket
2. why would people want to upgrade to a vip seat when the vip corner is always blocked by the camera crew?
3. i will smuggle my own beer and sausage for the next match ... 13 bucks for a can of beer and a bottle of distilled water is simply too much.
match grapevine ...
the local fellows warmed up the ring pretty well, especially the thai duo ... 'bi-a' who was representing Singapore in the Singapore-Thailand undercard match even managed to get the contenders themselves to inch closer to the stage for a better look! great stuff!
the actual match absolutely made the crowd crazy! the sea of red came on strong with his sneaky tidal attacks while the blue coast brewed a lethal sandstorm. eventually, the coast gave way to the raging tide.
by the way, the official contender asia website is painfully out-dated ...
