The Contender Asia Season 2 will be hosted by Malaysia
It appears the Malaysian Tourism Authority won the bid for Season Two of Contender Asia.
How about that? I hope they'll film it in JB
Malaysia Boleh!!! Yeah! I hope its at JB too but if its in KL, it will be a good excuse to travel there too!!!
p.s. we need more variety for the Tee shirt designs on the contenderasia fans website! How about using my sig?
I'd love to hear the real story behind why this went to M'sia.
Politicians and diapers must be changed often and usually for the same reason.
OoO congrats. Can hardly wait. Though I'll always have this "special thing" for the very first season. I think they'll film it in KL...there's the Petronas Towers there and stuff it'll look great on tv. Please get us a cooler host who might perhaps have some genuine Muay Thai experience.
Be water, my friend.
+ she must be extra HOT. hehe
awww. i was hoping for another season in singapore.
it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
oh. crap.
My computer kept beating me at chess.
But it was no match for me at Muay Thai.
malaysia sounds good, at least it gives me a very good reason to take leave and have a vacation...
Just wonder why my neighbour is more excited about CA2 than us!!! For whatever reasons it is yet to make news in media here (Malaysia).
You guys was the first host, Malaysian have the highest viewer. Still can't understand why we can't feel the excitement (yet)!!
Just to let you guys know... we are organizing 4 big events before year end:
International Muay Thai Challenge:
Nov: Kelantan (14-15 November 2008)
Dec: date to be announced soon
1) KL
2) Kelana Jaya (Selangor)
3) Penang.
Details later, or check my blog: http://boxxtomoi.blogspot.com/
Cuti-cuti Malaysia !
enjoy you week end.
Because most of the people here saw the fights live, or managed to snap a photo with the fighters at one of the events and they're truly fans. Probably that's why they make big noise!!!
Send some updates.
Cheers
anyway jus curious, have the contestants been finalized already?
gaijinu,
I think we can make our own Contender.
I was toying this idea of having one of your regular’s visitors here to have a friendly fight with one of my regular blog visitor.
Just like from Zero to Hero.
I got nobody in mind right now who's my contender (I don't know if I got one) but If they can do it on TV , heck , we can do it the same with alternative media.
If we really highlight a person, (God forgive us), we can turn him to superstar status no mater if he win or otherwise.
Just build a story about him. You got more people checking on his progress here, I might have more hits over my blog!! Our sponsor will be happy about it.
Fight? I can lobby my promoter to give one slot. I can assure you BIG crowd even without free beer!
Belt... we can get one of those big buckle belt, at least the winner can wear it everyday with his jean!
Crazy idea? ... I got crazier idea if you guy promise not to laugh!!
Cheers!
HAHAHAHA.!! =D

any idea wad will be the weight categories for TCA2?
Hmm... i think it would remain in 70kg catagory. But I've heard that they are chosing fighters with reasonable fight record only. Like 30 or 40 wins, instead of fighters like 100+ wins and sort. Its a good opportunity for the fighters to make a name for themselves.
If its KL, i think most of the guys could only make it for the finals... Can't wait to know who is in the contender. Heard fairtex sending another of their champ fighter -_-||| actually, I was thinking that fairtex is spoliting the market sia. But well its all politics ba....
I wanna see thai vs thai and not some thai with 150+ fight record vs some kid with 15 or 40 plus fight record. Damn unfair sia.
its AXN for me
cant travel.
i think they sent in those udnerdog fighters hoping to cause a upset.
but well, dint happen in TCA1.
is in the army...
There are so many good fighters in Holland and Europe in general... hope they'll find some good ones...
honestly i guess, it a reality show after all... and often its those big names that pull in the viewership and also probably i guess most ppl wanna see how those big names react to the drama part of the show though...
*ps* Grake, jus curious what you mean by Fairtex spoiling market? And also how come other established MT gyms like Por Pramuk gym or even those Phuket gyms do not send in participents? anybody can enlighten? thanks...
Damn 70kg again i was hoping 58kg-65kg

i suppose because Fairtex is the most commercialised among all ?
it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
probably so, but the good thing i guess is although fairtex maybe commercialise but they still produce good fighters rite?
if i'm not wrong Por Pramuk gym sign a contract with K1 so i think its becos of this problem. They don't send their fighters to fight. Plus, fairtex is a supporter of WMC. So most of the fighters will come from fairtex.
I was seriously thinking they should put Malaipet or namsaknoi "The Emperor" in the contender and not always some guys from Fairtex... -_-|||
Malaipet will make a good contender !!
it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
jus went youtube and saw some videos of Malaipet... Boy!!! is gonna be one hell of a contender... his kicks seems damn lethal...
you must have missed his recent fight with yoddy . . .
hehehe yeah, the one in Jamaica, right?
i saw the one in jamaica, yes he lost to yoddy but a defeat against yoddy i guess doesnt make his kicks less lethal or his punches less agressve... i seen a couple of his highlights and mma fights and its jus beautiful to watch him though... go check out the one he fought in mma again tarzan douglas... he jus seems to tough and hard to break down even taking a barrage of like 4 to 5 shots in the face and an straight elbow down when grappling on the ground.. he jus immediately recovers and throws a smile and goes at douglas lke he wasnt even hit at all... his kicks looked like it was crppling douglas as he couldnt even walk properly and stand properly... but i was jus surprised how he lost that fight though... puzzles me...
no doubt hes a good fighter he reminded me of a recent match up with Madsua VS Yoddy in Singapore Madsua is am awesome fighter like Malaipet some how Yoddy is like the TANK of the moment ! Maybe if we match up Malaipet n Madsua we'd have a show too !
probably, i guess... anyway Yoddy is jus like a machine la... the way he tears into malaipet in the fight was jus crazy... imagine malaipet being a pretty strong fighter but kena like tear apart by yoddy's punches and uppercuts...

Well i tot numsakmnoi is already retired?Anyway numsaknoi is teaching at his own gym now
If i'm not wrong he just fought recently in a couple of months back in thailand... against Berneung from "Tiger Muaythai" Phuket
Hmm.. A couple of months back ago i've ask Joy about the top few middleweight nakmuay in thailand... the first name he bought up was Namsaknoi "The Emperor". Yeah he is retire, but has become unretire now... Guess, he can't stop fighting...
Haha ok yea i saw him fight a few months ago.To me he is number 1 in thailand
jus went youtube and saw some videos of Malaipet... Boy!!! is gonna be one hell of a contender... his kicks seems damn lethal...
Malaipet might make it for CA...Elite XC the organisation he is in is bankrupt....then again, its never straightforward with the CA decision makers...
will contentder 2 be showing in ch 5???
well we wouldnt know that would we.
the names of the fighters selected for tca2 are not even annouced
is in the army...

22 fighters? thats a big lot. 6 more than series one.
is in the army...
Thanks for the info muaymalay!!!
My mistake. It's 21 fighters for TCA2. Markus Oberg from Sweden is the first fighter that has qualified for season 2. He won against Dzhabar at the Sweden qualifying. For everybodys info all fighters has to go through another interview with the contender producers. They have to meet criteria i.e english, personality etc ... If they cant speak english they have to have a charming look like Yod to qualify as contestant.
charming look like yod ? i think naruepol is much more charming. hahaha !
it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
yod qualified cause of his deadly reputation.
is in the army...
yod qualified cause of his deadly reputation.
i guess that works too... in life as well.
good to know that the next tca has a proper and organized qualification process so that anyone who thinks he deserves a shot can step forward.
My computer kept beating me at chess.
But it was no match for me at Muay Thai.

-_-||| Bankrupt... Don't tell me thats its because of the US financial crisis...?
if thats the case, it seems that this financial meltdown is hitting sports in more than one way... football, F1, basketball, golf... lets tighten our belt guys and rough it thru i guess...

Forgive me for being abrupt Seanie, but if you are going to view the financial meltdown as a time where you need to 'tighten your belt and rough it thru," you will never be able to spot the plenty opportunities that will present itself in times of crisis...
quite true hansen, guess i am more conventional in my thinking... hahazzz... prob u r rite, situations like dis can be an advantage to those who venture though...
"when the streets are bleeding buy property"

wah, property is very heavy investment lehz... wanna share venture? haha...
I think it going to be only a matter of time the show is going to run out of famous fighters.
The fighting reality TV was already around since back from the UFC season "The ultimate Fighter". what they do is they take the famous fighters and make them coach instead and do away without the silly tele match. and the contenders are actually guys hungry for the shot and fame. which i feel make the show better. Imagine Team John wayne vs Team Yod.

cool....
