-------------------------------------------

The Amateur & Novince as well as the Local Pro Fights will be held on 21st July 2007 at Cairnhill C.C

Im still waiting for some gyms to reply with their fighters details. If there is a huge response, the FINALS of the Amateur/Novince/Local Pro will be fought at Fort Canning. If there isn't THEN all fights will be held at Cairnhill C.C with the Prize Presentation to be done at Fort Canning Park.

Cairnhill CC fights will be FREE entry. So now you have NO EXCUSE to not be able to go to the fights at Fort Canning!!!!!!
-------------------------------------------

Paul Slowinski (K-1 Oceanic and Euro GP Champion,WMC 4 Time Heavyweight Champion) will defend his WMC World Heavyweight title against the African Champion Faisal Zakariya. Paul is on top form at the moment, can Faisal take the title and belt away from him?

If you have anything planned for July 28th...CANCEL IT!! If you haven't got the cash for tickets...Uhhhh Rob an old lady...break your piggy bank??? Dancing

--------------------------------------------

Posters are the same only with a change of venue and dates. I will have the updated copy up shortly. Tickets will be out by this week.

Well you all already know the Amateur tournament dates as I've mentioned it.

So why not start training hard now? It's just a matter of getting your gym to send in your names via email when the registration is open. Don't have to wait til it's open THEN you start training =)

After names and all are in,it's just grouping all of you into a weight category.

The venue for the Amateur,Novince & Local Pro bouts are to be confirmed. Unfortunately it's not as easy as setting up a ring and letting you guys bash it out.

Only the FINALS will be fought at Suntec City. Yes 1 week later....Those of you who have fought 2 or 3 times a night Im sure you won't mind the rest for a week and recovering to go at it 100% again.

But hey...if you don't want to wait a week and you wanna get it over that day. Just suggest it. We are all open to ideas.

There will be a meeting with all gyms probably over the weekend to finalize a few issues. After that,...it's all systems go!!

Update on the Amateur Tournament

14th July at Cairnhill C.C. (Close to Newton MRT)

Weigh In and Fight Time will be informed when closer to date.

Im still waiting to get fighter details from some gyms. Some have been kind and co-operative enough to send in the details early.....others....well.....................all I can say is closing date is 2nd July.

Antti, there are some BIG guys in this tournament Amateur 93kg and another Novince 84kg? You wouldn't have needed to lose weight to fight this time. hah!

Hi Zack,
Do we need to buy 2 seperate tics if we want to go watch both the amateur/novice fights, as well as the pro fights at Suntec? Or one tic to see both? Thanks.

Hopefully it'll be affordable.

Some of us have to attend both if our friends are fighting in novice and amateur/pro, will be very expensive to pay for two tickets,so guess most people will then choose to only attend the Suntec event. Like this not very supportive of the novice fighters if no one goes to support them, and encouraging more people to fight in future, and amateur people doing their selection bouts, hope organisers can take this angle into consideration too...... Angel Thanks!

Hi guys,

Sorry for late response,we are trying to sort our some issues with the venues and all. There might be "A FEW" changes here and there. (Slowinski is still coming, don't worry!!!)

I will update everyone again once I get an email from Thailand.

kiatsongrit wrote:

As for tickets to Amateur/Novince Fights we are trying to make it reasonable for everyone. Like I said before,it's not as easy as setting up a ring and letting you guys bash it out. Renting Venues,Fighters allowance,Refrees & Judges....The list goes ONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kiatsongrit wrote:

Reason why we split it up is because:

1) Time constraint. At Jurong it was a 6 - 7 hour show!!! Refs,Judges,Fighters,Trainers were all DEAD by then. We all don't want something like that again.

2) If all you Amateurs/Novince wanna fight at the big shows with the big names. Guess you all gotta work your way to the top? Show us you deserve to be there? The more you want something the harder you work for it. Hence all of you improve in your game.

Alright guys,I will update A.S.A.P....Trust me it's been a real pain dealing with some of the companies.

Update nr. ..err... 5? Eye

Dates and venues are changed a little bit in the sense the fighters have more time to prepare. The qualifications will be on 21st of July at Cairnhill Community Club and the finals will be held at Fort Canning Park on 28th of July 2007.

The main fight will be between Paul Slowinski and Faisal Zakaria with the african champion challenging the Aussie WMC champ for the title and belt.

Now go and find out as much as possible about these guys, we need to be prepared Cool Smiling

Hi,

Are dates changed or not?

The first post says the qualifiers are on 21st and main event is now 28th. Is this correct? Does this mean the novice bouts are on 21st as well?

Sorry for all the change and whatsoever....it has been a reaaaaaaal PAIN IN THE ...........................
Just when we thought everything was going smooth!!!!! We hit a wall Brick wall

Anyways, good news regarding the FREE entry to Cairnhill C.C's fights.
Hope all you broke students are jumping for joy over this!!

Once again,Im asking for your full support and that you promote this too all your friends and family. Lets make it another sellout event like in Jurong. The event once again will be televised on FOX Sport and UBC. So lets show the world what Singapore Muay Thai is all about.

Thank you very much for being so patient with the organizers and all.

93 and 84kg..? That´s BIIIGGGG! Well training is going ok here in Finland, so I think I´ll make it under 79kg without a problem. But, as always, I don´t mind a few kilos here and there, as long as there is a matchup!! But I´ll be back only in 30th July, so hopefully there is still some fights coming up!

Congrats to Zach for you great fight in Batam!

And good luck for everyone in these July events, hopefully it will blow people´s minds about muay thai and we´ll get more exposure and sponsors and big money prizes and fame and chicks!! Eye

All the best

Yeah that's the spirit Kiatsongrit.

Muay Thai will only get more popular and the fighters will get better if everyone works together and starts seeing that everyone benefits from it.
No matter how big or how small the contribution is..It is still something.

Well Im only helping out with bits and pieces of organizing and sorta giving ideas. But it's hard when I have to train and work....and bloody deal with the organizing. Can get very stressful!! Brick wall

Tickets will be out by Monday and I think the guys will distribute it to the gyms then.

Alright LaterZ

Are the tickets out already? Will anyone from the public be able to buy the tickets in advance or they will only be distributed to the gyms?

Thx!

Hey I'm new around here...

when they said Cairnhill C.C admission is free... means we don't need to get tickets before hand? We can just walk-in the day itself?
thanks ^^

Hi MuayThai SGers,

Here are a few more update for the upcoming events.

21st July's Amateur/Novince fights will be at Cairnhill C.C. The fights will start at 3PM. Entry is FREE. There wil be 9 Bouts altogether. 8 Amatuer/Novince and 1 Local Pro. This Local Pro fight will be the MAIN FIGHT for the evening. And what a fight it will be!! We will see Victor Hilltop vs Louis Muay Thai Workshop.

Tickets for the Fort Canning fights will be sold there that day. So if you and your friends haven't got them from the gyms you can get it from that day. There will be a booth selling them. Hurry get them coz we've already sold out all the $105 and $85 tickets.

I will have more updates later for everyone as we are just finalizing some more minor details.
Just post any more questions or send me a private msg and I will reply to ya A.S.A.P.

Hope to see you all on the 21st and 28th.
