Recently there was a post below stating of a 16 yr old guy trying to lose body fat. Yeah i also have the same dilemma. Im 15. with a short height of 167 and weighs 57.2kg. Meaning that my BMI falls on the healthy range. Im not overweight, but i do have body fat that i really do wanna burn. So far, i'm not taking muay thai, but im contemplating between Muay Thai or Wing Chun at the moment.

What i really do wanna as if HIIT or high intensive interval training works. a thread below shows someone telling the starter to use HIIT. i tried it today with a 15sec sprint following by a 45sec cool down, redoing the cycle 5times. to be honest, i didnt feel much of a difference. indeed it pushes my lungs to the max. but i didnt sweat much, or felt that i burned something. so i really do hope someone can come up and give me some advices. i really need to burn these fats. thnx

Aye! Perhaps you can try this on tracks? Sprint for the straights, jog for the curves. Do this for as many times? Hope this helps. Green

Well I wouldn't say that weight is a factor in learning Muay Thai but determination is. Moreover, Muay Thai is definitely the expressway to get trimmed and fit. As for your back problem, it is still best to consult your GP or specialist before enrolling. Hope this helps! Dancing

Do statics and circuit training with minimal rest in between sets or exercises.

Or u can combine HIIT with body weight training.

Meaning:

Sprint for 30 secs, jog 60 secs follow by pull ups, dips, crunches, push ups in the fitness station. After that, jogging for 10 mins return to the fitness station for the 4 sets of exercises. There after sprint for 1 min, jog for 2 mins.

Try it!!

Precisely, and since its in S'pore, even better, the climate will assist you....hydration is the key word here and you will be on the safe side. I have seen a few ppl running in sweat suits here alr.

I dont think diet-ing and the sprinting plus jogging actually helps much in losing body fat. I eat alot and anything i want at anytime i want and dont do any running or skipping. Yet I dont have much body fats.

saying that is actually kinda ignorant.

pple had spent decades and millions of dollars perfecting diets and training regimes and it is proven that they r effective.

how do u explain the contestants in the biggest losers den?

so if they r gona eat anything they want and not do any forms of exercices r they gona lose weight like you?no that aint gona happen, its becuz they did that thays y they r so fat.

yea ur metabolism is high thats y without much physical activity u dont put on much fats.metabolism rate is the rate at how much calories ur body is able to burn .the more the better as in the case for you.

where as others like me...just have to cheat for one day ,meaning eating out for the whole day,i wld feel my body being bloated up the next.

so pple like u are lucky to have high metabolisms while pple like me who have slower or lesser than average metabolism rates have to work hard in both diet and exercise.

Yea..it can be boring, but its a very convenient and conventional form of High intensity interval training.
Come on, its all in your MIND. If u don't have the determination or perserverance to keep up with your fitness, everything is BORING to u man!!

MIND, BODY & SOUL

And one more thing, u quit just after starting it? Come on, this is a joke...
I think your body can't take the intensity of the training and boring is not the main reason. If u r weak, admit it yea Smiling

Oh. Will my metabolism ever drop.
So I'm just one of those lucky bastards that can not bother about cardio and diet-ing and still not be fat.
Haha.

Yes it will, and when it does, it will hit you like a rock right in the face. I've a friend who's metabolism rate was high when younger, and after 30+ he bloated like the mashmellow man. Another one keep thinking that he could eat whatever he wanted and get away with it. He's still rather thin now, but his cholesterol rate is off the charts. Well...all the fats have to clog somewhere Green

Btw, my metabolism rate is also quite high, but after seeing those two, I've seriously started to watch my diet
