muay thai
HI I'M FIRDAUS 17 FROM NGEE ANN POLY AND I'VE BEEN DOING MUAY THAI FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS NOW. I HAD ONLY ONE FIGHT WHICH IS IN THE NUS INTER TERTIARY MUAY THAI COMP 2010. BELOW IS THE MY FIGHT VIDEO AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW FROM FELLOW MUAY THAI PEOPLE ON MY GOOD POINTS AND BAD POINTS SO PLEASE DO COMMENT. BTW I AM IN THE RED CORNER.
that's really very good for someone who's only trained 4 months. did you have experience in other martial arts before? you're very talented.
Politicians and diapers must be changed often and usually for the same reason.
You did a well kicked But you react quite slow after the oponent attack u. You must speed up esp your hands.
What happen after that?

thaanks guys. yeah i kinda realised that i have slow reactions so i think i should work on my speed, clinching and improve to have an even more awesome kicks. anyway i dont take other martial arts outside. btw i'm looking for more fights in the future. muay thai for the win.
You only trained for 4 months and you fought like a guy who has trained for a year. That's great. Comments are easier said than done. You are the fighter and you fight alone, absorb what knowledge u have learned and apply it into the ring and that's what matters the most. For novice i recommend u not to engage in clinching as the referee will break you once u grab the opponent. No use wasting energy trying to clinch your opponent and trying to throw him down when the referee will try to break every single time you go for a clinch. UNLESS the instance you grab him u follow up with a knee immediately. Like i said why waste energy when u can just grab the opponent and let the referee break? Make sence? Singapore Muay Thai rules and Thai rules are very different. Only for Pro fights can u see clinching taking place. U can view all the fights in Singapore and u will see that the referee will break every single time u grab the opponent, u have to follow up immediately with a knee! U be the judge and try if u don't believe.

I think he did very well. Things work very differently the first time you step into the ring. The stress, fear, pressure all work against you. Complicated tehcniques don't work. Mind goes blank. Even normal reflexes that you can do very well under training conditions may stop working if the stress is too high. When you get hit hard the first time, your mind blanks out. I think everyone who's entered the ring has experienced this and can relate. Most folks only perform at 50% of their capability when they go in for a fight that first time, because of the adrenaline and fear.
To be able to do what he did, and only after 4 months, is very very good IMO.

NOthing is impossible in this world. U juz have to believe it. Be it 4mths old.. or a year old in MT

Welcome bro! You block well the kicks, but guard is too open imho - elbows too far away from the body. If your next opponent is faster, that might present him with an open target. You had the reach advantage in this one and you use it well.
But you're doing great after only 4 months!
Keep it up!
Need also more clinching work - hugging to death your opponent doesn't always work
And btw, I wonder if the guys we can hear talking ever stepped in the ring before?
