Closure of FWA :[
Hi everyone!
This is my first post in muaythai.sg/forum!
I am 17 years old this year and you guys can just call me by my forum nick, Latte!
Anyway, i used to train at Fightworks Asia @ MacPherson.
However, i can no longer train there as FWA @ MacPherson has just recently closed down and has moved to ECP.
I can't go ECP to train as it is very far from where i live (Telok Blangah), sigh. I don't know of any gym to go now.
Can anyone recommend me a gym near my area?
*trainings are during afternoon and not evening (6pm++)
*training fees reasonable (like fwa
)
/i LOVE training at FWA, hope they will open a branch near city area soon!
-thanks in advance!-
To facilitate us to help you, would you care to tell us the training fees you are currently paying and the hours? So we could do a detailed comparison and therefore, precise help

@ joe; yeah but not so soon.
it might take a few months before the new gym is opened.
@ mingneh; i am paying $100/mth for unlimited sessions
each session is 1 hour long
So i presume it's anytime of the day?
Information below contains pricing and schedule information. It is not intended as an advertisement.
http://www.asokamuaythai.com/package.html Would probably suits you. It has multiple time slots a day which i find many people would be fond of simply for it's flexibility. Personalyl i find it's packages quite similar to that of FWA. It';s also nearer to central area. Hope it helps (:

Oh ya. Come to think of it, will the pricing be the same for the FWA in town =s

Fight G. at clarke quay
ASF or Evolve in central. no question abt it.
Actually, come to think of it, i've did in depth research on evolve but not FWA. Anyone wanna share their thoughts about FWA?

Thank you!
However, it is a tad far from my area but the pricing is good for unlimited sessions but a wee bit expensive for a student like me
!
`
anyway, i think the pricing for FWA @ town will also be the same.
@ MTF; have smsed & emailed the owner of FightG but he has yet replied and give me the new schedule.
@ gajinu; Evolve requires me to be 21 and above unless my parents tag along for the first session...
@ Mingneh; FWA is spacious with a cage and a professional boxing/ muay thai ring. It has sufficient bags too! The instructors are friendly too~
@LATTE - Visit fight G blog. The fees and new schedule are stated there. Dont expect too mush though. Cheap fees comes with lesser equipments/facilities. They only i toilet and 2 punching bags[which are seldom used by trainees]. Most lessons are with pads and mitts.
Heard from a friend of mine who used to train there say that the classes are often crowded, with insufficient space for shadowboxing..? True ah?

true. i tahan there for a while then i left.
tried evolve and found the place and the coach to be fantastic. but its too expensive for me to afford. haha. sigh. hunting for a new gym around CBD/town area now that is cost friendly now.
To be the best potato, you must first be a true potato.
@LATTE - The gym is rather small, thats why there is no space to shadow box. MMA class is worse. You lie down on the mat and there is a leg just next to your face. The trainer-trainee ratio is ok though.
@ fightingpotato; can't wait for fwa to open at town (soon)!
@ joeblack; looks like i'm left with ASF as my choice
@LATTE. Hey mate, i'm exactly in the same situation as you. E-X-A-C-T-L-Y. do post here if you go for ASF trainning. Then i'll join and be the second scrub. ;D
P.S It'll be alelujah if the FWA at town remains the kick ass pricing.

$100/month/unlimited sessions is

Yea, might go ASF starting the week after next.
The turf city one eh? How do i even get there.
haha

Vanda Boxing Club?
IMO, VBC is rather non member friendly.
They require you to sign up for a minimum of 6 month membership.
Waht about their quality? Any ideas? Actually dear Latte, i was refering to the ASF at honkong street. Stupid me. Sorry xP

I don't know about their VBC..
`
i might actually travel all the way to ECP just to join my old gym.
Thats my struggle now. Woodlands to ECP. No direct train. Non of it pretty.

Telok Blangah (near vivo) all the way to ECP
Alamak. We sucks. But hey, if i really am left with no choice. Then heck! Passion over pragmatism! ECP it shall be.

Haha, see you there if you ever decide to go there.
Sup Gako, good luck in finding a new gym to train
How did you know i am gako.
Cause of my first post?
Might just travel all the way down to ECP
Everywhere of you is obvious, your name, gym background and your endless questions
One with endless questions is good what.
It helps one improve/
Of course, since when I say it's bad
