Fight G quality
beiginner here, age 16. just checked out many MT gym's websites. Saw fight g and was almost like a dream man. $68 for 8 sessions a month or $80 SGD for unlimited/12 sessions a month??? good deal, but is the quality there... need your views fellow fight g members.
Yo
Fight G do offer free trials. Try one out and see it for yourself. You have nothing to lose, except for the calories you're goin to burn during the trial.

Actually most gyms do offer free intro lesson. You just need to ask
If you want cheaper muay thai lessons, you can try lessons that are conducted at community centres. They are comparable to gym trainings as the coaches are licensed by WMC.
i feel that the gym are more focused and training is more quality than quantity, unlike the ccs with big groups and few teachers. anywayz, how to register for trial lesson? can i juts join in a lesson suddenly? what to bring and/or wear?

Pls call the respective gyms and enquire accordingly, all gyms have their own rules, regulations and criteria on free trials, etc, same goes with attire, etc...these gyms are friendly and will be more than happy to answer any of your questions or doubts. And btw their contact numbers are all listed in their website including their email addresses.
The_heat,have you went down for a trial lesson already? How was it? (:
I trained there for 3 months. The quality is so so only if you're a beginner. The competitors that train there gets additional training outside class. The place is a little cramp for a muaythai school.
hey guyz im 15 and need a new gym, thinking of fight g. teelin, your from fight g. The attire can wear anything right? Shirt and muay thai shorts right?
yea kaimama.u can wear anything.jus bring your handwraps, mouth guard, and ball guard,if u dun have them,u can get them at the gym.
Thanks man. If got medical issues how?

Asthma man.. I also long time never train..
is it an issue in cardio?
Asthma man.. I also long time never train..
Are you on any medication/inhalers for your asthma? Its better to seek a doctor's opinion on your condition as MT is a strenous activity for the lungs.
Besides, if you do start MT, go slow, progressive trg is your answer to any beginner.
PS: I am also an asthmatic but touch wood so far no problems.

Yup, it is. They are varying levels in asthma and it can be fatal. Most attacks are triggered by strenous exercise and dust allergy but the irony is for asthmatics in order to keep asthma at bay, we need to exercise our lungs. Usually swimming, jogging are recommended activities, for the more serious cases, some are not even allowed to exercise, it depends on the individual's condition.
Thanks guys, anyway im joining fight g. Hey where exactly is fight g i know its at the shophouses at hongkong street but where is it??? Which building guyz??

hey kaimana,
when was your last asthma attack? any aggravating factors? please take care whilst training arite? my suggestion is to get a medical opinion before you begin training. In fact, it's advisable for everyone to get a medical opinion before picking up any strenuous/outdoor sports.
just my 2 cents
Yeah.. Please answer two of my question ty..
Yeah.. Please answer two of my question ty..
You can see the fight g sign board along the shophouses of north canal road.its near to the start. And yes, there is a shower room and a toilet.Goodluck (: Plus u might want to go for a try lesson first.See whether u like it anot.We always recommend u try the tryout lesson first.
u can see the location of the gym at the fight g website, hope i'm not advertising here O.O just helping a future nakmuay out :B
The tryout, later wear the normal muay thai clothing. Then do what? i noe tryout but what.. Anyway teelin you first time join oso tryout?
Heard that fightg is rather cramp hur.
Hey guyz one more thing, i know i ask alot of question.. what does fight g offers from start to end? Is the a shower?
Can you be more specific in saying what they offer?
Answering you they offer muay thai classes can also answer your question.
And yes, there is A shower and A toilet but I'm guessing you should have already tried it out since it has been 2 months since your post.
To be the best potato, you must first be a true potato.
kaimana, it's either you start having a trial or you don't. Unless you're having trials halfway, jumped outta the window, climbed back up the stairs and joined officially.
Also, at tryouts you do exactly what tryouts do. They facilitate you to do some muay thai related work outs and some simple pad work to let you have a 'feel' of it. Which is esentially the essence of going to a try out. On a side note, i do believe your questions had been answered clearly before. Do take note of what everyone said
Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door.
I stopped by Fight G to check it out. The place was tiny! I mean, it was smaller than my living room really and packed with students. I don't care how good the instructions are, there is no way you can train in such a crowded place.
Yep, we heard that as well... How would you learn a proper kick or a knee where there's no space to practice?!?!?
Yo crpz32, then u shud try other gyms..there are plenty out there..dont give up..

went to Vanda on a Friday night when according to their schedule they were supposed to have both intermediate boxing and muay thai classes. I figured I would check out both. To my surprise, there was no class, and they had 2 private one-on-one sessions going. I asked the two people at the counter what happened with the classes and they could not give me an answer. Big disappointment. Vanda should exchange their gym space with fight G LOL.
I ended up joining Hilltop. Best balance of everything in my opinion.
Hilltop the Gym or Hilltop muaythai?

From the description it's the gym
yes Hilltop the Gym.
I wanted to check out BXG and Fight works Asia, but too far.
Evolve, a bit too expensive.
Hilltop the Gym is a tad expensive for me though.
Care to share the pricing? Looks like a good gym(:
Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door.
I think it's important to see who is doing the training rather than the gym itself. I know many trainers have moved around or left SG. Different trainers can have very different skills and more importantly. attitudes. Got some very good fighters, but not good attitude for trainer. Got some average fighters, but make very good trainers.
do we have to wear muay thai shorts for fightg? or our own shorts can?
also, how do i go for their trial session? need to register online or something, or can just come down during their training times?
At Fight G you can wear your MT shorts or any shorts you feell comfortable in.
As for the trial, you can just show up at the class timings. But do go early to check out the place for yourself.
As for the comments on the venue beig small, yes but they split the class into 2 ie: newbies and advanced. The newbies will take the roof top (which has a shelter and is cool) where the advanced take the lower floor where the ring is. And there is enought space to learn your full kicks.
I feel that the trainers there are good and care about your progression and not just selling you the package. (NO HARD SELL at all)
Price is very fair and they will be renovating soon.

hi and welcome the_heat. You can try using the search function on the top right corner, there's been many posts on this subject in the past. hope this helps.
