I have used mouth Pieces
I have around 10 mouths pieces before. So i could offer my humble reviews.
I had three pieces of Adidas Mouth Pieces.
Three from Canterbury Heerens back in my rugby days.
Two Custom Made from a Dentist
Two Shockdoctor mouthpieces Gel Nano and Gel Max Mouthguard
From Rugby, Adidas, Shockdoctor and A custom made one

Advise on getting a good Mouth Piece
1. Airtight and glued to your teeth.
2. You wear the mouth piece and speak very very clearly
3. No restrict of airflow.

Adidas or Rugby Mouthpieces


Cost price $5 to $12

Most Rugby Mouth pieces are almost similiar to the ones in sold in Liang Seng.
They are hard to mold, They don't mold to fit and the best thing of all they are
so loose fitting that i have seen people gagging on their mouth pieces during training and sqarring sessions. The Worst Case that i have come across was, both of his front teeth were broken and one of my training buddies back in the old days had to get a root canal to get a new inplant for both of his front teeth.
Advice : Buy it only if you are on a budget.

Custom Made Mouth Piece

Cost Prices $150 to $250 depending on Size and Colouring,
Custom made mouth piece are one of the best for fitting and protection
which some of they even cover the gums. Best if you wanna to have a singapore flag on your mouth piece or something. Great for Sports and Martial Arts alike which i use to custom made it for Rugby Training and Martial Arts.
Advice : Buy it if you can afford it

Shock Doctor Mouths Pieces




Cost Prices $40 to $60 depending on Shipping
Shock Doctor was introduce to me by a American Friend of mine who is a Dentist, Muay Thai guy and a American Football player back in 2005. Being research by Three different leading Dentistry from Three different Universities they came up with shock doctor.I am very impress with Shockdoctor as i used it for sparring and full contact boxing, I got once Knocked Out in Sqarring and the mouth piece stayed in place when on my teeth when i was KO. Using Shockdoctor mouths pieces are one of the best mouth pieces i have ever used. It is the best advice i can give anyone to get a mouth piece.

The Difference on Gel Nano and Gel Max Mouthguard

Gel Nano


Gel Nano is the consider best mouth piece around, no doubt about it. It is great for molding and fitting and it has a great rates of fitting it to your teeth which allows

1. Airtight and glued to your teeth.
2. You wear the mouth piece and speak very very clearly
3. No restrict of airflow.

It is a great deal to get it if you don't wanna to be like Frank Lester in
The Ultimate Fighter Season 9.

" Frank Lester lost four of his Front Teeth to a Muay Thai Knee to the mouth.
Clippers were used to pull the teeth from the mouth piece out."

Gel Max


Gel Max is good and it offers good protection on the teeth. It is consider to be the second best mouth piece around comparing to Gel Nano. It has the similiar properties

1. Airtight and glued to your teeth.
2. You wear the mouth piece and speak very very clearly
3. No restrict of airflow.

But Please follow the instruction for Gel Max very closely and do not over mold it
which some people do over mold it from time to time. Please get someone who has mold it before or follow the instruction in great detail.

The Best Advice that i can give. Get Shock Doctor Value for money and not only that
if your teeth is broken while you are using ShockDoctor they would be liable for the damage to your teeth, so far from what i know no one lost a tooth to shockdoctor yet maybe a Muay Thai Elbow or Knee would do the trick.
