Hello and Welcome!

No my friend, the instructors will take care of that
Hi all, thanks for putting up the page, been waiting for singapore´s own MuayThai-site for looong time!
I´m training with Alvin Seet, getting ready for the 31st of March event...
Hey Antti, welcome! Do you have any more details about the event? We'd like to put them up so ppl could go.
Cheers!
Well I don´t know much, the venue is Jurong East and the date is 31.3. like I said earlier. Rumour has that there would be fighters from Australia and Thailand too..? All this just what I hear, In Singapore it´s very difficult to get any official information about these events.
That´s why I appreciate this website alot, we now have a channel to get more organized! As far as I know The MuayThai scene here is a bit funny, SPECIALLY organizing fights. There are many clubs here, why there is only two or three fights a year??
Back home in Finland, my city has only two clubs, and still they have fights at least once in two months. Is it because of pride/jealousy/politics between the gyms here that is so difficult for two or three gyms to get a couple of guys each and have a friendly fightnight once a month?
With this rate of fights all the amateurs here are going to be 30+ years old before they have 10 fights! Don´t think of me as somebody bragging about how things are somewhere else and not good here, that´s not why I write this, I just want everyone to get more ringexperience ( including myself before I get too old ) and raise the standard of thaiboxing here. Seriously, how difficult can it be?
Hello there.
Like Antti said, nice to have this site happening, let's try to keep it alive.
I'm from Finland like Antti and have been training Thai-Boxing in there couple of years and taken three amateur matches. But this was like 4 years ago. Since then i have been training various of contact sports. Now i have been training MT over here about 5 months with Alvin Seet.
Trying to get fit for the 31st of March event as well.
Height: 5'7"
Weight: Try to go to 67kg
(Now my weight is 70-72kg)
Aaron 'The Ghost' Fisher from Tigerpitt Muaythai (Phuket) will be fighting in the pro match. No idea about anything else regarding the event.
Hey Borgia, welcome! Antti, can you get your gym/instructor to post more info about it? Cheers!
This is the aim of this website, to get things more organised and bring the muay thai community together, regardless of their affiliations.
Hmmm... we need to get the gyms to post their info here, spread the word about muaythai.sg and make it like an information hub for the muay thai scene here in S'pore. It would be really great if we can have inter club fights, that would be cool.
Antti, I totally agree with you, but remember, muay thai is quite young (at least officially) in Singapore so it might be a bit slow to get things going. On the other hand events like "Muay thai against drugs" or the Tanglin one - were quite popular. Spread the word and (the right) people will listen
Gabe, can you ask around at CA? Maybe they know more... We'll try to find out from our gyms as well. Thanks!!!!!
Oh my, Aaron Fisher is quite famous...
which club gyms should i join?? any suggestions?? me and ma bro wanted to join a muay thai club but we got no idea of which 2 join... planned to join boxing & fitness but too expensive... we really2 need help.... -venge-

Sorry for the noob questions, but what does CA stand for? See that mentioned quite a bit. Thanks.
Politicians and diapers must be changed often and usually for the same reason.
A muay thai gym featured on the http://muaythai.sg/muay_thai_gyms_singapore page.

Well, this could be one of the most difficult decisions. If money is a big object then I suggest you go to each gym, ask if they have a trial class, peek around and choose which ever you like.
good day all...i'm very keen in picking up muay thai as a sport.was thinking of joining combat academy but got intimidated by the big boyz.lookin for a quiet spot.anyone?
hey slim, BXG has like 3 levels, beginners, intermediate and pros, check them out, and they're preety friendly, don't know about the rest.
And welcome to the MT scene
We have 3-4 newbeginners training with us in Alvin's gym, all of them just started the sport in the last couple of weeks..
thanks bro for the recommendation.hope to see u in the ring 1 day.lol
cheers!
hey antti, hw's the people there, are they frenly, i wanna train muay thai, and i'm living in seng kang, kinda shy when alot of people, how do i join ? i really would like to fight in a ring one day, dun care if i innjured, i just wanna fight,nw young can , next time old regret too late =) MT rocks !!
I'm glad we have new ppl who want to take up muay thai!!!
Everyone there is very friendly, i haven't seen any 'intimidation' by anyone for the time i trained there... I think the best is to show up to the training and see how it is, and talk to Alvin himself. we have some new people almost every time to see the training, and some of them also join.
If you want to check it out, tomorrow ( saturday ) the training will be at Starhub Centre, 10th floor on the rooftop garden, around 11am. Starhub Centre is near Centerpoint, Orchard.
I will not be there tomorrow, for I'm going to Bali to get some well deserved rest after the hellish diet i had for the last month...
Hope to see you in training soon!
damn, singapore's having the bmx thingy and i have to be there, maybe next week ?
hi i think theres muaythai at some of the CCs in your area, try Punggol CC or hougang CC not sure which though.
