How do you lose your confidence?
How do you lose your confidence?
Ex. Losing your confidence for other fights when you lost your fights
For me.. I gain confidence after losing a fight.. but I lose confidence after being shot down by someone close to me..

kinda same. but i lose confidence at times after getting to many shots in the head. lol.![]()
yeah i did that ! but my hands kept dropping without me realising it ! arghh
i got countless shots to my head today during sparring. could have got KO in the 2nd round if it was a real fight. lol.
it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.

I used to be like that when I first started out too - its normal human reflex for the hands to go down ,be it tiring or simply not used to it. My Thai instructors made me cup my ears when my hands went down or if my arms were feeling tired. It is a conscious effort. Even when I was hitting the bags, they made me cup my ears just for the sake of getting me drilled hands up automatically. There were times where my hands were so tired that I was practically hanging on my ears.. but It worked for me.
**when you cup your ears and feeling tired, there's a tendency for your arms to go outwards, as I mentioned, its a conscious effort, make sure youre elbows are pointing in front. Hope, this helps.

haha. when i first started out , Joe taught me to pull my ear whenever i kick the bags. so its like my hands will always be up in this way. innovative method i must say. ![]()

Haha.. I still prefer the one when you put down your hand, you get smack on the face

after u lose the second match up u now know more and feel brave-er
after u lose ur third, u begin to understand the game
after u lose ur fourth, u feel the need to train harder
after u lose ur fifth, u cant wait to fight again to prove ppl wrong
after u lose ur sixth u wanna end this losing streak
after u lose ur seventh u learn to be an underdog and want to make chances of it.
after u lose ur eigth ure getting sick and ur anger burns
after u lose ur ninth, thats when u lose confidence
after u lose ur straight 10 matchups, and this time to a guy who only started out 3 mths ago and u, u started out 2 yrs ago, thats when.......

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL to avk's post
In a fight, you should always stay calm, relax, and keep your mind clear, focus on what needs to be done. That being said, you shouldn't lose your confidence. Even if you're getting bashed, with a clear mind, you should figure out how to avoid it, defend yourself, and perhaps land a counter. Just always try to keep cool as much as possible. If the opponent is better than you and is pounding you, just ask him/her politely to tone it down, if he/she doesn't, then just don't sparr with them. Remember that you're sparring to get better, not to get beaten until you lose all senses.
Anyways, just fight someone that is reasonable and have regards for his/her opponent and you won't lose confidence. But if you fight in the ring, that's another story. I would refer to you to avk comment above lol.

Haha.. to me thats your point of view.. but its difficult to change.. its already set in your mind.. but I will prevent this from happening... thats the only thing I can do.. ![]()
Lol yes I agree, but it is the "ideal" state of mind you want to stay in as much as you can throughout the fight. Easier said than done, but just do your best in every sparring session.
Of course this is my opinion, but I'm confident enough to say it's a universal advice on sparring or any other sport. This small technique is what keeps me safe and dangerous to my opponent.
the difference between an average thai and an average westerner.
thais tend to be more relax and calm and then come up with the whamp bamps.
and thats why thyre better.
budden again, ya, easier said then done.
is in the army...
Thais tend to whupass because they've been doing this fulltime as their professional job since 9 years old.
If the westerner started training and fighting at 9 and had 200 fights by the time he was 20, I'll bet he'd be pretty damn good too. Most people have a day job.
It's all a matter of time spent in training and fight experience, I think. Nothing to do with nationality or race.
But then again, I think eating that much chilli padi and mango salad does give you a little more "special power".... ![]()
Politicians and diapers must be changed often and usually for the same reason.
