Personal trainer
i would like to know whether there are personal trainers for muaythai. my objective is to keep fit .
Using analogy like swimming, i m not into competitive swimming sports, but get a personal trainer to train me to swim correctly, building up stamina, etc
For muaythai, due to work schedules, i m thinking of going for personal trainer. Eg pad kicks, army circuit training type. No sparring as i m a old man now, coming to 40 years old. Really want to shed weight.
If there is , kindly quote price per sessions, etc
HI Socialsg,
How was training coming up? May i know which gym you goes to? am thinking of personal training too, but perhaps we can do dual training with 1 coach?
Hi Gajinu,
Could you PM me the contact for your muay thai personal trainer too? I'm looking for a good one. Thanks very much!
Hi! Yes, I know one, probably the best on the islandCheck your PM.
cheers

Can PM me too! Thanks! Looking for personal trainer..
gaijinu..mi too..mi too..thx thx..
hi! could you PM me the contact for the personal MT trainer too? am interested as well. thanks!
so who is this amazing best one on the island...from my experience a lot of the instructors in Singapore arent actually that good - ie have little real coaching experience... just because you were/are a good fighter doesnt make you a good coach..... I am a pretty good coach if I do say so myself ... so I know the difference - have they cornered, have they trained fighters to a good level, do they understand the rules (amazing how many dont know how to score properly - or dont know the difference in scoring between K1 and Muaythai)...always ask this of your trainer.... who have they trained....who are the champions they have produced.... they shouldnt be shy in answering....and should be able to name them or show you clips etc...or photos....
dont be misled, after all you are paying them!!
It is sad to see that Muaythai is still struggling in Singapore after 13 years since it first came to our shores. While many gyms have sprout out and have native trainers but almost all of them are too commercialised. These Thai trainers may be champions and what not in their villages, etc but over here in S'pore they teach by going thru motion only, no techniques, no defence training, only typical exercises that anyone knows just to make you sweat it out, definately not worth the money paid.
All the good Thai trainers have either gone back home or transfered to other countries where Muaythai has a place in that country.
Guys, it's a 4 years old thread.... Use your imagination.... And don't dig up skeletons
agree...hardly see any hard sparring here, boxing level (for muay thai quite low) guess its just a different culture...shame....
as for digging up skeletons - very un singaporean of me but why should people not be able to ask? question everything - especially when learning something - even more so when paying to learn.....
i dont think its the trainers fault, in some respects the business owners or the client base...still as an instructor myself i find it sad to see people being taught badly or kicboxing when they think they are learning muay thai
Good point. Didn't mean skeletons as in something you shouldn't ask about it, but as this is an old thread (4 years) maybe what we were talking about at that point doesn't apply anymore
Best to open up a new thread and start from there, many new good trainers appeared in the last 4 years
