Yodsenklai vs Naruepol
The last episode was really touching. The remaining fighters are fighting on their own and the most touching part was when the fighters went into this restaurant and their loved ones visit them. While I was watchng that tears welled up in my eyes...so touching. AND THEN THE ATMOSPHERE WAS ALL RUINED BY A STUPID LORD OF THE RINGS COMMERCIAL!!!! ARGH!!!! I HATE COMMERCIALS!!!!!!!
Anyway, the match between Yodsenklai and Naruepol was really heartbreaking. Two best friends forced to fight. There was once when Naruepol was trapped at the ropes and Yods was punching him reapeatedly. AWW... Actually, the most dangerous thing to ever do is to get near the ropes. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT CORNERS! If you are trapped at a corner your opponent could take his opportunity to send a flying knee and elbow combo. That's a killer. Naruepol lost to Yods, from a punch in the jaw. KO. Looks like Yods didn't have to send out his holy swooping left kick afterall as Naruepol didn't attack much, probably because they are best friends.
Yup, fighting your on friend is really hard. But if I were to find with my friend in the ring, I would just do my buisness. But it still would be hurtful though. However, in muay thai, there'll always be respect...

hehee....not too sure about that...
somehow or rather , i just feel that naruepol didnt give his everything. there were a few occasions , if u noticed , naruepol didnt really go at yod when he had the chance to do so. i'm not saying that naruepol might win for sure if he fought with all his heart but it'll be a close fight and u'll nvr know what's gona happen till the winner is announced. yod's post fight comment kinda pissed me off. he said something like " naruepol didnt use his weapons well and hard. maybe he's afraid of me. " duh. -.-
Hmmmm Naruepol didn't do much; he didn't speak English either, and he didn't feel very comfortable in the 'loft'.
Did the programme makers 'ask' him if he might like to lose?
It seemed as if he didn't really fight back. I mean, if that's the best he has to offer, then he's not much of a fighter.
There's the problem, he IS a good fighter. So why didn't he try?
Maybe he decided to lie down, let his friend beat him. Afterall, if he had given Yodsaenklai the fight he COULD have given him, the winner would have needed a longer rest than 'Contender Asia' gave them.
It was so obvious...Naruepol pulled the whole thingy off...I mean come on - Naruepol is a top fighter and he got knocked out by that lame punch...LOL. - and then he "woke straight up" not even grogy after several minutes...Naruepol has his own principles but he has no idea how much money and expenses he wasted by doing that "act up", he should have someone else take his place instead...end of the day..moral of the story - do not get 2 buggers from the same camp!
** Who knows, it might have been a conspiracy set up between 2 of them....they might be sharing the spoils now - anything can happen

naruepol definitely didn't give his all. it was very obvious.
i couldn't help laughing out loud at the scene where yods was taking a friendly jibe at naruepol with one of the trainers in naruepol's full view.
oh yeah, tears welled in my eyes too when the contenders' loved ones came over to surprise visit them. it was very touching, especially of yods and his mom.
oh. yod said something like ' naruepol will be able to make a living with his looks . i make a living with luck. '
and ' maybe i should break his nose in the fight so that we can walk side by side '
Yod just wanted it way way way more than Naruepol I guess and Naruepol really hated the fact he had to fight his friend.
Yod even said something like : My best friend stands in the way of me getting the prize money. ( well something along that line )
Yup...and then it was all broken by a Lord Of The Rings commercial. I hate commercials!
I dont know what the real idea about. But i guess, Naruepol gave his chances because he knew, Yoddy stand a better chance in the final than him. Maybe that is why he let his own team mate from the same Fairtex gym to win it all. But it is sad though, just the beginning of the any man for his own, and they had to fight each other. It'll be alot more interesting if the producers let Naruepol stay longer in the game.
Sad enough that Naruepol doesnt gave his best at his last match. But thanks to him, Thailand picks up the trophy.
this , i dont agree.
i believe that both naruepol and yod have an equal amount of chance to win the title.
Yup...Yods is good in with his holy left leg kick, Naruepol is good especially with his elbows and knees.
i think kiat did post a vid about a fight between naruepol and fadi merza (spelling ? ) . look at how naruepol won the fight with the clinching and knees. simply awesome !!

Yea, in fact, I have this gut feeling that naruepol would have immerged the winner if he didn't get his "priciples" in the way; between him and Yoddy just by watching the 1st round of accurate hits that landed on yoddy causing him to lose balance. IMHO, I see Naruepol as a much more sharp fighter than Yoddy is.
yes mystiq ! i share the same point of view as you !
Afterall. . . Both Yoddy and Naruepol are Fairtex finesse fighter. They are among all of those dedicated Muay Thai champion/fighter.
The choosing of the fighters looks "fair" and looks as if everything is left to chance. But it's not. If you noticed, Fox chose the order in which they get to open the drawers.
1st person to pick, probability of kena-ing amulet: 1/8
2nd person: 1/7
3rd person: 1/6
4th person: 1/5
and so on. The later you're called, the higher the probability of you getting the amulet. As it went, Yod and Naruepol were the last 2 called.
hey kiat. i used to think this way too. but lets say there are 8 fighters to open the drawers. i'm number 4. 1 opens to an empty one. 2 and 3 both got amulets in the drawers they opened. so resulting in me not having to fight this round?
IMO, Naruepol can beat Yodsanklai.. But, I believe Naruepol thought that Yodsanklai needed the money much more and he wasn't comfortable in the loft for not speaking english so he gave the fight away.
could be, but this theory should be no excuse for anyone to give up the chance of walking away the champ of champs and a cool USD150000 richer.
in this example, had naruepol wanted to, he could have gone on to win the whole thing and donate some of his spoils to yods. any amount would be good for yods if this were the case.
secondly, the lack of knowledge in a language shouldn't have come in the way of bigger things. if someone told me i'd be cooped up in a room in russia with 15 other guys for a caviar-eating competition with a prize tag of 7268798937862987 roubles, i'd give it all i've got. i'd just go there and eat and eat and eat.
but of course that ain't gonna happen, haha :-&
nerd mode ON
Yes, there's always the chance of that happening. There is no sure thing, but I'm saying they can rig the order in which the fighters fight by controlling the probabilities. Just like in 4D, you could win 1st prize if you bought only one ticket, but between you and a person who bought 100,000 tickets with different numbers, what're the probabilities of the guy with more tickets winning? much higher.
And remember, they can control this not just in one fight, but in subsequent fights as well. If you remember probability class in school, if you're last to pick on both counts, that's 1/3 x 1/3 = 1/9 (or 1/2 x 1/2 = 1/4) chance of getting picked, while the one that goes first gets 1/8 x 1/8 = 1/64 chance of getting picked. That's a huge difference in probabilities.
Ok, nerd mode OFF.
I still dont get your point kiat. Haha.
that's because you were daydreaming about muay thai during math class.....
Was that suppose to be a wild guess.? Darn, u are damn right Kiat.
now i know why did i flunk my maths that badly during the sec school days.

You are not alone...18/100...can beat me?
Just to make things a bit clear for the Yody and Narupole fans, both are awesome fighters and you shouldn't look at this fight for comparison of those 2, as the fight was a setup.
Yody and Narupole really did not want to fight, so before the actual fight, they practiced a bit of how the fight would be, what to do and how to end it. Eventually leading a setup victory for Yody, and a small show for the fans.
Narupole is a great fighter, but he also has a good heart, so he let his best friend to move on to the next fight. I'm very sure he knows fighting by the ring or corner is not a good idea, so lets not think he's an idiot.
I know this because I have a friend that is good friends with both Narupole and Yody. He trained in the same gym in Thailand as they did and thats what he told me. Btw my brother met Narupole in real life after a fight because of that same friend, and took a pic with Narupole aswell. Both really nice guys. Another friend of mine that trained for a couple months in Thailand with Dzabar and Narupole, told me Narupole's a really shy guy, and likes to go home after training instead of hitting the pubs or going out. Hence why you don't see him much talking on TV or any of the other fighters except for Yody. It's not because he doesn't know English (subtitles could've easily solved the interviewing problems).
ahhh. so can i conclude from yr source that its a fixed fight ? i hear shouts of kelong kelong ..
