Poptheerathum Gym BKK (Samat Payakaroon)

Hi All,

Just returned from the camp. Thought I share a little with my experience there for a week.

Located very near the old airport in Bangkok (Don Mueng Airport) Airasia fly daily into this airport. Taxi ride to the camp is about THB150 max 15 - 20mins ride.

Emailed them few weeks before i travel. Khun Ying (Samart's wife) manages the bookings of the rooms etc..

Damage: THB10,000
(Includes shared Air-con room, daily training twice a day and 2 very good meals in the camp)
Shower and cable T.V in bedroom.

Free Wifi in common areas.

Camp has almost everything you need, even washing machine (slot coins) at THB30 for one big pail of clothes. All you have to do is just pack training gears, toiletries and be there.

What i like about this camp is that it is not commercialised. The trainers all do this for passion.

Typical training:
Morning: About 4km run at 6.45am (Fresh Air, pretty much kampong)
Shadow boxing: at least 30 mins
Pad works can go from 3 rounds to 7 rounds
Light Sparring / grappling for about 3 rounds.

Afternoon: Skipping for 30mins. (Starts at 3pm)
The rest pretty much the same.

Note: They also do have locals that come in and train regularly but they separate and have more focused time on trainees. Average Coach to student is 1 to 1.

They emphasise a lot on basics, and they do not hesitate teaching you skill in particular you want to learn, boxing, grappling. Trainers spend most time with students on pads rather than bags, which is good.

Trainers:
Kru Samart
Kru Kob
Kru Nii (Current Champion of Omnoi and Radjademon Stadium)
Kru Mag (Current Champion of Omnoi and Radjademon Stadium)
Kru Bank

Max Capacity: 24 pax (Stay in camp)

Conclusion: Clean (Only 4 years old), complete camp, not commercialised and very patient and good trainers.

Note: I do not work for them, however i feel that SG like myself will love it. Clean and nice gym plus Value for $$.. Singaporeans pampered...
