Contender asia 2 down

Submitted by jeronry on Wed, 18/08/2010 - 10:04

Hi MTSG peeps.

I have received some information that Contender Asia 2 would not commence shooting and that many fighters had already pulled out of it. Sad to know because the one film in our home country was great and definitely a milestone and a eye opener to people who doesn't know muaythai.

Submitted by khun Ajarn on Sat, 25/10/2008 - 03:56

Hello

What do you guys think about Zdiov akuma ? I think his performance goes down really bad. losing 5 or 6 in a row after contender ?

Is this because he switch gym from Ubon gym to WMC gym ?

Fight against Eli Mad Dog he was really bullied badly

What are ou thoughts about Zidov ? Is his fight career over or should he just quit and go for TV Acting hahaha

Contender Asia Finale: John Wayne Parr vs Yodsenklai

Submitted by copeland on Fri, 08/08/2008 - 19:49

Wow...this fight is intrudging. John was really doing well in the first few rounds, dominating Yodsenklai. He was starting off real good, he landed quite a few punches on Yodsenklai's face. Yodsenklai also managed to elbow John, causing him to bleed. I thought that Yodsenklai was not himself, he didn't really show off much of his holy left leg, but he won the fight anyway. John dedicated that match to his father who was sick at that time, and he passed away during the K1-MAX fight. Good news is that his wife gave birth to a baby boy, Jesse James Parr.

The Contender Asia Grudge Match 2: Rafik Bakouri vs Dzhabar Askerov

Submitted by copeland on Fri, 08/08/2008 - 19:41

Wow...I bet this is the match that everyone has been waiting for, as well as what Dzhabar has been waiting for....kicking his ass. In the first few episodes, Rafik, the captain of the blue team got more and more cocky of the past few successes of his team. Dzhabar got pissed off and fought with Rafik during training. MAN...they sure are rivals. But not too much now I think.

The Contender Asia Grudge Match: Zig Zach vs Zidov Akuma

Submitted by copeland on Fri, 01/08/2008 - 18:23

Man....this match really contains some nut-craking action.... Anyway, back to the topic. Well oh well, Zach finally had the chance to take his revenge against his enemy. In the first few rounds, I was a quite disppointed because I don't know why but Zidov didn't seem to fight like what he used to be....he used to go phsyco and crazy in the previous match but in this one, well, it's really quite awkward. As a result, Zach glinched on every chance he could to dominate Zidov...yup, he was doing well, boxing beautifully and the rythm was great.

Yodsenklai vs Sean Wright

Submitted by copeland on Fri, 18/07/2008 - 15:09

This was a really interesting match that I watched. I was surprised that Sean wasn't scared of Yods when he had to fight him. "No big deal...he'll bring me on as a fighter." When I heard that, in my heart I was saying THAT'S THE WAY DUDE!!!!!! However, Sean lost. But I was pretty surprised to see Sean starting off so well in the first few minutes. The first punch to the head, Sean got up. And in round 2, Sean got a punch in his face and was knocked out. Although Sean lost, I really find him a really good fighter. I think now I like Joakim and Sean!

Soren Mongkontong vs Dzhabar "Chengis Khan" Askerov

Submitted by copeland on Fri, 11/07/2008 - 15:29

One word - sad. Just in round one, Soren got knocked out because his brain was struck suddenly. Honestly, I think that was just a lucky punch. Soren is so much taller and heavier...he could have defeated Dzhabar! Soren was doing so good in the first few minutes until the uppercut was sent. Sad....really sad.

Zidov "Akuma" Dominik vs John Wayne Parr

Submitted by copeland on Sun, 06/07/2008 - 13:46

Hey guys...I did not watch the previous episode of the show but I watched a bit of the ending of the match. Damn...Zidov is so strong man! Everytime he fell he did not give up and kept climbing up again despite the number of blows he received. Many of the contestants thought that Zidov had no hope. But hey...while I was watching the match Zidov seemed like after every blow received he felt nothing and he kept on going at John..! Now that's really strong of Zidov. He did what he should do although he lost the match.

The three goliaths of The Contender Asia 2008

Submitted by copeland on Sat, 28/06/2008 - 22:36

Hey..I wanted to post this for fun . I found out this funny thing in The Contender. There are three "goliaths".
Sean has a face of a baby, but he really does has that Scottish deep goliathy groove. Bruce definately sounds more like a goliath, his deep machinery voice and his huge arm muscles. Finally, Yukay. He doesn't really sound like one, but he looks like one. Especially his huge broad jaw and the way he smiles.

The three goliaths of The Contender Asia 2008...don't you think?!

Sean Wright vs Joakim "Yukay" Karlsson

Submitted by copeland on Sat, 28/06/2008 - 20:39

Wow wow wow...this match is really exciting. Sean won Yukay by a TKO, through a kick to Yukay's thigh. The first time Sean almost lost was when he punched Yukay in the ribs. OUCH! It's just so surprising man..Yukay was like pretty strong in his fight with Pitu. Sean was really strong in the first round, punching and kicking real hard. And he knocked off Yukay.

Yodsenklai vs Naruepol

Submitted by copeland on Fri, 20/06/2008 - 17:40

The last episode was really touching. The remaining fighters are fighting on their own and the most touching part was when the fighters went into this restaurant and their loved ones visit them. While I was watchng that tears welled up in my eyes...so touching. AND THEN THE ATMOSPHERE WAS ALL RUINED BY A STUPID LORD OF THE RINGS COMMERCIAL!!!! ARGH!!!! I HATE COMMERCIALS!!!!!!!

Jose "Pitu" Sans vs Joakim "Yukay" Karlsson

Submitted by copeland on Fri, 13/06/2008 - 22:54

I hate seeing this match. Just to minutes and Pitu got kocked out. Pitu has been training so damn hard and he's so well prepared for the match but he suffered a punch in his face and he's knocked out. The first time when I saw Pitu bleeding, in my heart I was saying.." AWWW...NO!" And the second time when I see him laying flat my heart sank...one nice guy being eliminated. Sad
