OMG #-o what happened?? TKO in which round? Zidov lost by decision?
Aaah not again. Yet so close to vitory. Always the shoulder keeps popping out. Nvm Zach, u win or u lost, we are still here to support our born fighters. What happened to Akuma.?
Just updated the fights list.
Muay Thai Singapore
It seems Soren, Yoddy, Naruepol and Pitu were there at the fights.
Zach's shoulder popped up TWICE and the fight was over in the 2nd round.

Aww...not a dislocated shoulder again. I think Zach should take a break and get 100% recovered and make another bigger and better comeback.
My elbows are deadly...
My knees are too...
My punches are heavy...
My kicks are cool...
Thanks alot for the pictures.
Bloody and fierce fights happened when i was like having my dinner.
But still, i guess all fighters give their 101% on the ring, that's what the pictures show me.
Win or lose, they gain respect

Is it time for Zach to retire from the ring given his medical condition?
While we are still his fans and backing him up 110%, future sponsors, organisers, etc are not going to see it that way soon.
They may give Zach a miss in future cause of his medical condition. To them, he is a "risk" as I am sure lots of $$ is involved with full time professionals like him. Its not about winning or losing, its about a medical condition that gets in the way unexpectedly as and when and sponsors are not so forgiving and understanding in the long run. Just a thought

and this happens
i feel sad for zach.
and anw, i thght sean alr lost the intercontential title to soren, hw come hes defeding it again, weird.
nice last picture
is in the army...
yeah. tough luck zach. anw , anyone knows if zidov's on a losing spree ? :?
it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
I have to agree with mystiq..Usually when a sportsman have a permanent injury then have to retire .
As for Zidov maybe he is very stress cause he becoming a father soon.. 8-[
zachs face looked bad. i think whether or not his shoulder came out, he was gonna get ko. so it might be better for him that his shoulder came out. didnt get ko. just like vs zidov the first time. looked in danger of getting ko. then his shoulders came out.
From my experience after the 1st time or 2nd time your shoulder pop out it will be loosen and you can actually "Pop It" anytime you want.I was surprise after he lost to zidov (Tca show) he actually still can move his arms...
I thought it will be a "Bao eat" lunch . too bad .. Its a jungle out there. He already ate Pinky "the australia possum "and '' The Switzerland Zebra" ..and he run into a "Brazillian Tiger"...
yes i heard abt that too. maybe he popped it on purpose
eh? zach was dominating the fight against zidov when they fought for the first time on tca. i see him no where near to looking in danger of getting ko. my apologies if i had misinterpret yr msg. kindly correct me if im wrong.
it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog.
ah oh well....
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi corea, thank you for being so polite. I appreciate it. i think zach was dominating the beginning. when he got caught by one of zidov's crazy wild punches, he sort of broke zachs momentum. pls correct me if i am wrong, but zach looked kinda flustered at the end. his eyes were closing, he was flinching, and at one point he turned his back to zidov and "ran away". zach is well known to be unable to handle punches. so that was i derived my observation.
Videos of the fight anyone??
Every other tom, dick and harry likes to say so-and-so is well-known for being unable to handle punches etc.
I'm guessing maybe Zach had mindlessly wandered into some boxing ring, and it so happened that he was in a costume party in which he decided to dress as a fighter, and then it so happened that a match was gonna go on, so he had no choice but to retaliate.
C'mon people, don't say stupid things. What is stupid is complacency.
And can we have an online video on 'Instructions On How To Pop Your Shoulders As & When You Wish' from who was that again...? Maybe we can all try getting our shoulders popped several times while in a fight and see how many of us can look like we are not in pain and carry on fighting. Ooh yeah we love to get bones outta our sockets.
Frankironleg & reshit, why in the world would anyone dislocate their own shoulders and go thru that kind of excrutiating pain? :? :O I also understand that "putting back" dislocated shoulders is just as painful. Besides, in TCA, when Zach elbowed Zidov on the nose and it bled till the match had to be stopped - now tell me if that was chereographed too?!
When will you guys stop coming up with weird explainations. Besides, I never once heard that Zach was unable to handle punches. All I heard was Zach has strong kicks and abt his shoulder dislocation issue. And for a fact anyone that goes in the ring and fights it out comes out flustered, teary eyed with sweat, etc 8-[

my sincere apologies if i ruffled any feathers.
i respect your informed opinions, flippy and mystiq.
it is wrong of me to speculate for only the man himself will really know.
Aight no worries. It's a forum, after all
I was in Shah Alam and I watched the fights.
I just wished Zach didn't have to do his stupid antics before the fight.
First he did his Muay Ritual Dance way longer than his opponent. When the music died he was still doing the dance. He looked at the judges a few times to see if he can continue, and when the judges gave the ok he just went on and on and on. The audience was already impatient and shouting at him to stop. He then carried his dance to the opponents corner and taunted him using the ritual dance.
People in the audience was already saying "buy, this fella will be damn malu if he lost"...
I wish he can win the fight using real fighting skills, rather than using these antics to challenge the mental discipline of his opponent.
Anyway I think the fight for the Malaysian contender was biased. I felt Khoo was clearly the more experienced and better fighter. How could he lose? Perhaps to place two Malays in the finals so that the representative can be Malay?
I wonder...
aiyoh... #-o
My computer kept beating me at chess.
But it was no match for me at Muay Thai.
Ah...time to draw sword and guns... ready aim and fire away !! MAIC....I dont think you know nuts about muay thai. Just another ignorant ****ing idiot. Read up the forums, search the internet websites before you open your foul mouth and insult at the fighters. Wai Kru is not an antics. I will let the others to explain to you if they even bother to.
I lazy to blast you more la...let the others do the job.
OK, sorry for my ignorance of Muay Thai.
This is what I got from wikipedia -
"The fighter first performs the Wai Khru, circling the ring three times before kneeling and bowing three times as a sign of respect to god and man. He also bows to Buddha to ask for protection for himself and his opponent and for an honourable fight.
The fighter then performs the Ram Muay, whose simple movements demonstrate a fighter's control and style. Each fighter performs the Ram Muay on each side of the ring to demonstrate his prowess to the audience. The Ram Muay is a personal ritual, ranging from the very complex to the very simple, and often contains clues about who trained the fighter and where the fighter is from".
So let me be specific... I have seen fights in Lumpini Stadium, so I know the process of a proper fight.
I am now refering to Ram Muay...
Mr Zach performed the Ram Muay way longer than any of the fighters who fought that day. Way longer than his opponent. Way longer than the music was played. So let me tell you what happened. Both the fighters did the Ram Muay. Leonardo stopped, the music stopped and everyone was expecting the fight to start...well Zach did not stop, he was still going. He then looked at the judges, ok to continue? And he continued. The music restarted for him, and on he went. The he looked at the judge again, can he continue? yes, so on he went again. The audience was getting restless, people were saying what was this guy trying to show? He then looked again at the judges, ok to go another round? the audience got more restless, started shouting at him, making noises...but off he went again....
He then went to the opponents corner, and did the Ram Muay there tauting his opponent, like "I am going to slay you with a sword kind of thing", stomped on his ground...etc...
Come on, if you are good you are good, people can see, don't need to show off yourself and lose...damn malu man...and he lost...
By the way, although there was one or two fighters that went on a bit longer for the Ram Muay, he was by far the one who tried to show off the most.
Shoot me if you like, but I am not the only one among the audience who felt the same way.
Sorry to interupt.
I'm know quite little about muay thai, so dont mind me.
I'm just speaking out what my mind thinks of.
IMO is, since its a fight, its not only about physical contact.
Its also both mental and physical battling between the two fighters.
There's one saying, "Your strongest weapon against your enermy, is your enermy's mind."
So what i think zach's doing does make sense.
Leonardo, the Brazil champion.
Just imagine how big is brazil and he can outshine the other fighters in his country.
As an audience, you people may just feel that, "aiya waste time la, i pay money, you two fight leh."
But to the fighter, its about the glory they're holding on, their gym, their country, their kins.
Just imagine how much stress he's holding, plus zach has to worry about his old injury as well.
Yea, its abit of awkwarding to hold the people up so long.
But he's the only one staying in the ring, facing leonardo.
So maybe you should just chill down abit, respect the figther instead of ranting.
Peace out

Maybe you are mistaken maic, from your description, it would seem that you are describing the whole sequence of the ram muay that Zach did. When he stopped and look at judges - he did it 4 times as describe by you, can I say he did it at each corner or sides of the ring? There's a few ram muay where you turn behind to face the audience and nod your head and then carry on with the ram muay. As for tauting his opponent thingy, yea that is part of the ram muay too.
The Ring is my Battlefield!

maic, also just for your info, a fighter can take his time to do his ram muay. Did you know in the old days, a ram muay can be as long as 45 mins to an hour. In fact, in recent times, in Bangkok, there's a top fighter who actually does a 45 min ram muay in Lumpinee stadium. The moment, the audience see him coming, they all leave to take a break, go to the gents/ladies, for a smoke and come in later just in time for the fight. If the country origin of this martial has such understanding and tolerance, I don't see why in any way we are grumbling . As Bacaraat say, it would seem to me that you are rather ignorant of the sport and its tradional values. Have you actually heard the ram muay music on CD. Its just as long.
I wasn't at Shah Alam but from your desription, Zach did a 10 min ram muay? and perphaps because of your lack of knowledge and comprehension of the art itself, it seemed ages to you and the audience? I doubt Zach would do a 45 min ram muay. All audience want to see is action, action and action which is not wrong but it would be nice to sit back and watch another side to muaythai before a fightbegins and that is what actually makes the art so unique. In fact, Ram muay is one of my favourite part of any match.

Some of the comments here are rather offending. Just imagine what if Zach reads all of those stupid comments that some of you guys make? It's best if we keep the opinions to ourselves or even if we wish to say something, do it at a minimal level so others won't get offended by it.
Furthermore, if Zach were to do his sequence of Ram Muay longer that the Brazillan guy, it's his choice. It doesn't mean you do a longer Ram Muay, you have to win or else you will be embarrassed.
Sorry that I have to speak out. But I guess this is the best way to stop people from thrashing our very own Singapore fighter.
PEACE! =;
About the extended Ram Muay, Zach was on one side of the ring (he already did the 4 corner thing, and he kept checking with the same side of the ring, and it seriously looked like he was asking if its ok to continue, and then nodded his head and continued).
OK, I apologize if I insulted Zach. I did not realize that its a tradition of sorts.
However, I still think that the person who does not over do the mental part of taunting the opponent and win is by far the superior sportsman. I would not want my kids to go to karate or other competitions with this kind of strategy or tactic just to win the competition or medal. I would want him to learn patient and control should his opponents do it to him instead. Maybe I am a bit of an idealist and traditionalist.
I know American boxers will hold press conferences to insult each other publicly.
Lets take golf, its also mental, so you can make your opponent impatient, angry..whatever, so you get the advantage, like play slow, make noise when he hits..as much as the rules allow..all to get an advantage.
However, if you can win without resorting to these tactics (while your opponent uses them), then you are the superior fighter.
Mind you, I am not talking about a actual street fight or while you are being robbed, where you need to not get hurt or killed without paying attention to fair play and superior sportsmanship.
I am taking here of an international competition, watched by over 100 countries, and Zach representing Singapore, won't it be nicer if we won it based on superior fighting techniques and skills?
If that's what you're saying, that is your opinon already.
Bro, things turn abit ugly after your second post which is directly pointing at zach.
Maybe over the cybernet, you cant know the expression of others.
But to me, your tone is already abit unfriendly.
There's zach's gym mates, fans, friends here.
So maybe even if you dont like it, you can go rant to your close friends or someone else.
Rather than telling us how much you annoyed you got from the ram muay that zach'd perform.
And for your last sentance, you're total wrong.
As long as zach represent singapore into the ring, he got my full support no matter how long he does his wai khru.
If you want to go fast, crawl.
If you want to go slow, run.

Hmm... I don't blame you cause I don't think you understand the beauty and purpose of Ram Muay or even muaythai. In thailand, the audience and fighters respect each other wai khru. You should just try looking at other people wai khru before commenting it... Each fighters has a different style of doing their wai khru like JWP "The GUNSLINGER" and BRUCE "The Peacher". It is not a type of show off or anything... Respect the fight, and Respect the fighter.

Grake, thanks for the pictures. Its nice to see the TCA boys coming back to to support one another for other matches - it speaks of the friendship and brother bond that has formed amongst them. Yoddy just as cute as ever! }:) Tengku looks so Thai-ish. Leonard, gawd has an irritating face...lol... 8-[ too bad, he didnt get to feel Zach's full potential, hope they can have a rematch

Hi guys, sry I was away for a short while, no, not in KL unfortunately
Thanks a LOT Grake for the pics and vids, appreciated!!!
To answer to a few freshmeats' questions and in the same time welcoming them:
Yeah, Zach is reading and posting here from time to time, but I don't think he'll reply to the "popping shoulder on purpose" and "The audience was getting restless" comments.
Comment1: dude, if you can pop up your shoulder on purpose a few times a day I'll give u 10.000 DOLLARS, organize a demo on NDP for u, call all the TV channels and I'll make u a circus star. But in return we get to pop up the other shoulder anytime we want. Deal?
Comment2: The rudest thing you can ever do at a muay thai fight is to boo the fighter when he/she is doing the wai khru. If you can't wait just get out and get some water, fresh air, a mint or whatever.
Comment3: "zach is well known to be unable to handle punches" - No shit. Are you? Where did you get that shit from?
I agree with Grake, since it seems you don't really understand we can't blame you.
That's why we created this forum so people can learn about this sport, rules and traditions. So please browse around, there's so much good info here. Also don't forget to use the SEARCH function - all the info you posted about it's already here. Search for wai khru or clips or anything you like. And 1 thing you really really really need to understand is that the fighter decides how long or short his ram muay will be, not the public, refs, TV or the DJ. Capisci?
Happy learning! And please come back and share what you learned.

Are u a fuck***D trying to wage a war.? Are u a S'porean.? I can see how much disgust u have after watching it live towards Zach and e champ. Those bolded words is what i cant fucking swallow. Is it u fighting or is it Zach fighting.? How much u spent on the tickets.? Like 200 sing $.? I think the word 'biased' is not appropriate anymore, it doesnt link with your last question & your last unfinished sentence. Your words are like knifes slaying open anyones throat just by reading it.
Aahhhh. See, u just dig a fucking hole for your ignorant self. You wouldnt succeed in teaching your children/s patience as u have NONE. If u do have one, u should be as patience as Zach opponents/judges. Also, if this a habit u really have in your life, then I can expect the same for your child.
U see maic mate, if u cant explain for yourself, how could u explain for others.?
