Yodsaenklai was TOO HOT for JWP. It was truly an eye-opener to see both great fighters having a go at one another again. Luv it. It'll take someone special to take Yoddie down.

darknight, you're right on.

Khan match up, what was Zidov doing???? i really have no idea. Anyway a win is still a win and congrats to local champ Zach.

Soren matchup, sean was running out of fuel and soren came punch, punch, knee on many occasions till i lost count.

Dzabar matchup, initially i thought pucnhes would be coming fast and furious but nah, forgot there's a belt up for grab so it was a cautious appraoach and nothing much seperates them.

Was at the fight. Sean gassed out because he took a few good knee shots into his guts when he was defending his head. IMHO, Sean has cleaner techniques than Soren, he does not show alot of body movement before he strikes.

Congratulations to Louis from MTW - scary punches you got there! Great fight!

Congratulations to Brenda from Hilltop - you were awesome and had a really big heart, saw you took some hard ones in the face but you just kept going and gave it all back and more, I was shouting my lungs out...:D

Congratulations to Zach for beating Zidov - that's a really scary elbow from you, we were all wincing as we watched the replay, Zidov has great heart though, I think it'll have dropped most people.

Sin-ga-pore! Sin-ga-pore! Sin-ga-pore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS: Noticed there were some drunk dudes making trouble or something, and some pissed people shouting at the ushers because of some seating issues, I didn't know where to focus and which was more exciting, and was wondering if a fight was going to break out in the stands...:D

Yeah....Sean gives little movement away before he strikes but Soren's got a bigger array of techniques.

Feel sorry for JWP...he gave his all in the fight! Both Yod and JWP are champs!

I think seating for even the paypal last-min tickets weren't too bad. The indon guy which louis fought was Suhardi Flash. Not sure bout the Thai lady though.
Dzhabar was good in a textbook kinda way. Wonder if they'll show everything on axn 23rd april Smile

Singapore, Huat arh.
3 outta 3 singapore wins in one night.
Good 3rd round knockout for louis witha left hook that will knockout anyone.
Brenda, very compose pity u dint kknock her out, but ha, u dominated thruout anyway.
Zig Zach, haha, not much to say, did great as usual, everyone knew u could and u proved.
i was so hoping sean would win, but it was obvious around the 3rd round he was totally outta gas and give hits while soren did his usual combos.
and dzhar got his reasons for going slow ,just look at how jwp rushed into raffik in episode 3 and got elbows to his nose.

haha and i saw the drunked men too. thy threw some empty beer cup onto the stage and like 3~4secuirty guards went after thm.
PS* i think it was pretty embrassing for sg whn stephen fox had to talk about the booings. esp whn its mainly the caucusians that are doing it. bah.

there's no way for you to prove that and he was talking BS anyway 'cause nobody booed the ref, he's one of the best I've seen. They booed the doctor who stopped the fight. :hysterical: imho it was the right decision anyway - one could see on the big screens Zidov's blood spurting from his nose and the doc couldn't stop the bleeding  :green:

Hmm...think its time for our local fighters to match up with tougher opponents. No disrepect to louis or brenda, but i would like to see them fight stronger opponents. The indonesian guy was a joke, worse to come, the thai girl really put shame to country where muay thia is born. Joy and Bungman both was shaking their head in disbelieve at the thai girl. They felt so embarrased!!

Coming to sean's fight. i think sean did very well in the first to round. But thrid round start, he seems to me like he only fight for 1minute, the n rest of the time just moving away and defending himself. He was not very match fit! Then heard from my thai trainer, he went to be a monk in the past month or so. Maybe that was the reason sean's not fighting well.

The Z vs Z match...er..frankly..i think Zidov was totally outclass.Very disappoining as i thought the Croats wil lput up a good fight. No power in his punch or kick and rather unfit as well. Zach's range of artillery power was also too much for Zidov to handle. But i guess the match could have ended earlier than the 5th round. Coz bot hhis trainer was complaining to me that why Zach didnt use his elbow. Before the 5th round, he only threw it once. Then..i guess Zach's ear must have twitch or what. He heard their complain. And that was a nose breaking elbow!! Brilliant!!

Dzhbar and Rafik?/ YAWN!! Was expecting alot on this fight but i guess too much was at stake. No one wants to lose this fight. And its was quite a bored to watch until the 4th round onwards. And like all fariy tales, Dzhbar won forgave Rafik and life goes on... boring!!

Yodsaenklai was a class on its own. JWP put up a braveheart fight but to no avail. The Thai just too strong for him. His deadly left kick and super punch was too much for JWP to handle. He treid to attack YSK with punches, but then most of it didnot connect as he wasnot punching straight at al

haha, actually i thought jwp connected alot, with his combos and punches.
but from what i saw, since his knockdown, his punches dint had much str/power behind them.
i would reckon yod connected alot lesser, but each time he did, he made full use of them.
every hit got the crowd on their feet looking if jwp would go down.
nonetheless jwp did extremly well, that avoidance of yod's kick was the highlight of the night.
kick ass. Kudos to both fighters. Had a great war and made the ticket $ worthwhile. Smile

Haha, i guess it'll eb pretty embrassing if our sg fighters lost in our home ground. To prevent that, i guess thats their only choice.
but yes, both of them fought really realyl well.

i was behind sean all the way. but i cause the knee combos from soren got to him and really gased him out. Sad
boo... was hoping sean would win.
and haha, i dint knw he became a monk.
that would explain his hair.
probly trying to incorporate the shaolin skills into muay thai.
No offence wat so ever Smile
go sean, will see u with a belt again soon.

something really really irked me during the finals!!!!

The blardy executive Riaz Metha rattled on and on thanking this, sponsor and that sponsor...thanked everyone and left out the FANS!!!!! Of course, Stefan Fuchs started accusing the FANS of booing the referee when in fact the fans were booing the doctor that stopped the fight! He even had the cheek to ask the fans to step into ring if they booed! wtf!

Why the hell do the fans have to take shit like that?

Looks like the fans are treated like a means to somebody else's ends!

oh well....maybe i am being too sensitive...

I just dont get it! When our locals dont do well, we ridicule them saying they shouldnt have fought and blah,blah,blah.......But when our locals do well, we say that they should have fought better opponents and that the weak opponents were delibrately planted in the matches for them to fight them???? Just when will you people start accepting that our locals are indeed reaching the standard that is needed to compete both locally and overseas and they are indeed doing well. Or is it a case of empty vessels making the most noise? Dirol

Hey Chicko, I understand what you mean...its about the fight itself and not who the fighters are; doesnt matter if their personalities are controversial etc as long as they put up a good fight in the ring...

the thing hardcore fight fans like ourselves got to realize is that we are a minority, at best an interest group. If we remain a minority, there will be no money in this sport! In order to create awareness for the sport, we need to reach the masses who may not appreciate fights the way you do...let them boo and bitch all they want as this is part of the "education" process. After the booing etc, they will start to learn the sport, talk about the sport and watch fights on youtube! That way , they become "educated" too....remember how K-1 used to have freak fights and style vs style at the initial stage of their promotions? that was their way of reaching ot the masses. They have succeeded and now they are putting up mainly legitimate fights for hardcore fans.

Hey Mystiq, I cant accept the match-making in particularly for Brenda's fight. She is a good fighter and deserves a better opponent. She thrashed the same thai girl before at Fort Canning and seriously, the Thai girl is somewhat a joke ...really! you should have watched the fight!

It seems the organizers (who dont give a shit about the fans) are simply matching them up again for convinence sake! You can PM if you want to know the circumstances that lead to the match-up!

Dirol

I think you dont get my point. What I want to see is tougher match up for our local fighters. We all know Louis, Brenda, Ah Biao and even Zach. Since they have reach certain standard here in singapore, I think its time for them to fight some real fights. No point always getting them weak opponents. No doubt everyone loves a winner. But when it comes to the crunch, it would not help. And i dont think we ever riducule our fighters before when they dont do well.(correct me if i am wrong). You need to fight a tough opponent to improve. I believe or from what i known, Zach and Louis have their fair share of losses record before reaching to where they are right now.

Agree. There thai girl just tarnish the image of thai boxing. And what more she's from Thailand!! The 3 of us ( Joy and Bungman) really cannot bear to watch it. We felt disgusted! And if the organisers want to just make up the number, please for god sake, get someone at least with some REALMuay Thai background!!!

Who is Bungman? Sounds like an anime superhero...

The thai girl looks familiar, was she one of the thais who fought against Master Toddy's girls in the show Fight Girls?

bungman is Zach's thai trainer...in thailand, the muslim guys are known as "bung" like Abang over here in Singapore Smile So he is Abang Man (short for Rahman or Azman i reckon) \\:D/ in Singapore context.

my humble thoughts:

JWP fought a great fight ! i think noone expected him to be outdone by punches from yod. he defended yod's left kick rly well! looked like he had a strategy n perhaps unfortunately that didnt include watching out for yod's punches. but great fight jwp, such a nice guy i feel glad that he did so well.

yod's an iron man sia! he got hit by a few shots but didnt even flinch. and he's now shown he's got hands to be reckoned with too...he's not just about powerful kicks.... wow....

congrats to the local guys! i agree that i think brenda could have been given a stronger opponent. we shld give her more credit i m sure she can fight a much higher standard than that thai girl.

and great job louis! that indo fighter was off the starting blocks at super speed but u managed to stay calm n ur power shone through! woohoo! i made a small bet with my fren b4 ur fight that u'll win by knockout(punches) and i was right!!

only gripe is the indoor stadium organisation rly screw up. in the paypal terms they said that although the tics would have seat number, it is free seating in the paypal zone. in the end the indoor stadium ushers told us thats not true, only to find out that its true later on and by then whatever seats we settled into were already lost. zzzz always like tat one, IMC show, and maria sharapova match also they screw up..... simple thing also cannot do properly and in the end the paying customers have to run here n there to find seats.
